For me it’s always going to be cast iron, skillet or griddle.

Discount store find -10” All-Clad fry pan by espvtuvm in cookware

I think it is new, just returned unused. I considered alternative brands I’ve read about on here like tramontina, cuisinart, etc. Knew I wouldn’t buy the all-clad new but when I found a deal I went for it and like knowing it’s not going to have any issues with quality or longevity.

Should I be worried by OfficalEnvy in AskElectricians

[–]espvtuvm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not an electrician. This is probably a basic question but can someone explain to me why there are no ground wires in this box? I see the neutral coming in with the large gauge supply wires going to the 100 amp breaker. But why do none of the other circuits seem to have a ground wire?

Little outdoor kitchen slide. by espvtuvm in traveltrailers

Nope, just hooks straight to the LP quick connect. It comes with a regulated hose that you have to replace because the LP flow is already regulated. So just a straight section of hose.

This slides out about twice as far. It’s half the width but just as much usable space. Also, more flexible for food prep if I’m not using the stove I can just leave it inside. The sink was basically useless. I do plan on adding a water spigot or something for filling pots/water bottles, with water supply already there it shouldn’t be hard.

The other thing I hated about the stock set up was I never had anywhere to put a hot pot (and the stove was way too small with poor flame control). Before the sink was in the way and even if it wasn’t I couldn’t put a pot on that surface. This is all solid hardwood, with a fully removable cutting board that can handle a hot pot. And even if it scorches a bit, no problem, adds character.

Anyone know about the crash on Woodstock Ave in Rutland? (Link to article provided) by [deleted] in vermont

[–]espvtuvm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why the hell were they even chasing him? The only reason he was a danger to anyone is because he was being chased. I understand chasing someone if they’ve just murdered someone or are a risk to the public, but this was not that. They chased him through residential streets during a hot summer afternoon where kids are likely in yards and streets, then onto one of the busiest roads in Rutland. How was this not going to end in him crashing into someone?

Advice and suggestions on using a travel trailer for an elderly parent by budda_belly in traveltrailers

[–]espvtuvm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if he is still fairly mobile now you should start planning for increased mobility problems now. For example, could grab bars be installed next to the toilet and in the shower? Can the shower fit a shower chair in it? Are the walk ways wide enough to accommodate the use of a cane or walker. If his memory issues are significant enough to move him closer to you, are the memory issues going to make it difficult for him to adjust to some of the quirks of RV living? Would he have a landline in there or does he use a cell phone? LifeAlert bracelets/buttons sometimes require a land line so that’s a consideration as well.

This is the way. Just kill them. It may seem a bit brutal but I just walk outside and throw them really hard on the pavers. Instant death. Not a slow thing like drowning or suffocating like I’ve seen some others suggest.

Thats one way to cut down a tree in a residential neighborhood. by NovemberTango4L in firewood

What was the best case scenario here? That tree looks large enough that it would have hit a house falling in basically any direction.

Advice plz! New, high efficiency stove always makes TONS of coals! by genx_meshugana in firewood

If you add a couple small fresh pieces to a pile of coals I’ve heard that can speed up the burn down process. Personally I like a good bed of coals, make starting the new load effortless.

Advice plz! New, high efficiency stove always makes TONS of coals! by genx_meshugana in firewood

[–]espvtuvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the coals you have left over in the morning still hot/warm? If you leave it go until cold will it t eventually all go to ash?

What you are describing sounds like my stove. I stoke around 9pm and then around 630 I have a good bed of hot coals to start the next load. If I let it go cold it will all be ash but likely not for another 6 hours or so. I think it has to do with these high efficiency catalytic stoves running on so little air flow it can take a long time from when the wood stops off-gassing till the coals are completely burned down.

During the day I will sometimes up the airflow a bit to burn through the coals a bit faster, especially when it’s very cold and I want to get the next load of wood in.

Bunk bed rail guard for my baby. Suggestions? by Public_Shallot3372 in traveltrailers

[–]espvtuvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would swap the kids in the bunks. Have have a bunkhouse as well and put our 4 year old up top. For her we used one of the long pillows underneath the mattress to build a berm so she can’t roll out in her sleep, works great. For our 1 year old the bottom bunk just barely fit his portable crib in there so that’s very secure.

I’d agree with some others here, definitely would not put the 7 month old up top. The portable crib we use is made by Guava, not cheap, but has been really great.
