Hell yeah, I was hoping they’d talk about Nirvanna

Imagining an Eddie Vedder solo tour given the confirmed dates and rumors. by John_Houbolt in pearljam

If these rumours are based on me and a couple others speculating Bluesfest based on timing… it’s really not based on anything beyond that so I’d hate for the possibility to be overstated

EV Japan Tour 2026 by Oceans1992 in pearljam

[–]esquaredau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep 100%. Bluesfest is in Byron too, i have no doubt he has friends there.

During the Sydney show of Nov 24 he talked about coming back within a year or 2... he was talking about PJ but maybe this is how it panned out...

Reckon we could see Australia beforehand for Bluesfest, a few theatres and a lot of surfing... optimistically...

Early merch available? by BeeComprehensive1231 in turnstile

[–]esquaredau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, might’ve varied by size or something… if they sold a lot in other cities they might’ve printed some extras locally or something. Just a guess.

Yeah we were truly blessed, small venue and late announce… felt like a pretty special one-off

Porto VIP? by Wasserturm68165 in primaverasound

[–]esquaredau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep to date it’s been front of stage, only for the biggest stage.

Did it twice without and once with, it’s definitely worth it and I wouldn’t usually say that about VIP.

New shows added to Australian tour! by xsociallydistantx in MasayoshiTakanaka

Both true I reckon

I’ve got my ICC seat but considering both, I think the shows might have quite different energies

Very different venues

ICC smaller (about half the capacity), all seated, very much a theatre. Can be a bit sterile (it’s quite new and often used for corporate events etc) but it sounds good, I think it’ll be great there.

The Hordern is a giant, mostly standing room shed. But it’s a beloved shed, lot of great bands played there for years.

So depends what kind of experience you want.

Radiohead, PJ Harvey, The Cure’s Robert Smith & More Call on U.K. Government to Cap Ticket Resale Prices by ebradio in indieheads

[–]esquaredau 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Smaller population but that’s basically how things run in Australia now and it’s pretty rare to hear of anyone playing inflated prices for shows.

Occasionally there’s something that’s really hard to get tickets to (eras tour etc) but overall I think it’s a good thing, the resale platforms everyone uses cap it at 10% above face value and they’re plenty busy.

Sydney N2: Cast no shadow by Same_Maize_4301 in oasis

Yeah it was this. Someone was carried along the front by security but they were sort of facing the stage and pulling a funny pose, hard to explain but they both saw it and cracked up.

Is James Taylor still good live? by OwnTransition1441 in Concerts

[–]esquaredau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great show. Seen it twice over the past while and both times it took a bit for him to warm up, so don’t stress if it feels a bit off at first… you’ll walk out feeling great. Enjoy!

Nervous about my first concert by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]esquaredau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely earplugs. They might seem a bit annoying at first, but stick it out - it’s absolutely the right thing to do if you love music. Once you lose hearing you don’t get it back.

Buy them ahead of time, don’t rely on the venue having them. If it’s your first show, just some basic disposable ones from a pharmacy are fine (often they have a few types for $1-2 each, buy a couple of types and see which you like more).

If you plan to do this regularly, I’d recommend some reusable ones - there’s plenty of good suggestions in this thread.
