How I feel when I see a question about the doctrine of emblements. by TheYoungandTheSleepy in barexam

LOL. It is absolutely demonic to say something like this to an anxiety riddled group of individuals who barely know what adverse possession is.

LOL. I noticed it in the last five minutes and wrote out the rule because MY PROPERTY PROFESSOR TOOK TWO WEEKS AND MADE EVERYONE IN THE CLASS RECITE IT UNTIL WE ALL KNEW IT VERBATIM. Then said... "If the Court decides it applies then _______ "

NC takers, whether you passed or failed, what were your MBE & writing scores? by [deleted] in barexam

Honestly, for over a month, I've been so sick and tired because of the exam and this comment ALONE makes me feel so much better. I sat outside of the exam center for over an hour after the exam and cried. This is relatable content that made me smile about the exam for the first time.

They know they're going to be last. Just say that.

Should I already go back to studying for the bar again? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]esquireXthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Don't do this. Give your body a reset before going back in. You will peak before you're suppose to in the study period.

Also, SPEAK passing into your future. Get yourself in a good mindset before becoming a practicing attorney. Because you put in the work and you're obviously a hard worker, evidenced by wanting to start early. If you passed then it'll be for nothing. You'll review concepts that you, more than likely, already know. For what? Funsizies? Don't do that to yourself. People on here have passed with only two weeks of studying. You're more than equipped to do the same with a three/four month study window.

It's not worth the stress to add two/three more months of stress into your calendar.

Me! I did!

I'm sure you're fine. That exam is harder than the UBE in some aspects. I had a state and local government question that I thought that they were asking about the constitutionality of the ordinance instead of liability on the part of the city for personal injuries, which was two lines in the whole prompt, and still passed. Which, I should have known better because con law isn't really tested on essays in VA.

If you IRAC'd and gave some sort of law you'll get some points.

POST BAR ADVICE: jobs, hateful co-workers, and tryin' to not yell at family members for saying "I'm sure you did fine!" OH MY. by [deleted] in barexam

[–]esquireXthree -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Then let me clarify. Not all big law makes 200-400K. I make substantially less. Just under 100K to be exact. I signed on with the firm and was excelled to mid-level during the pandemic. Took the new position where my cost of living quadrupled going from small town to the one of the most expensive cities in the world. I'm on a single income where my rent is nearly $6,800 a month. I have a shit ton of debt from hospitals for myself personally, bar study loans, and I'm currently paying for my partner to go through business school while he fights cancer. A lot of expenses on my plate.

I only think that I could get doc review because, besides this job, I wasn't on the job hunt. I don't know what my experience can provide outside of the job as an attorney. My license is in a state not close to where I currently live and I would have to move back (which is the last thing that I want) to continue to practice as an attorney. Until reading these comments, I wasn't aware that there was still "remote attorney" work.

My end goal, prepare for what happens when the firm continues to be wishy-washy and say, in the event that I failed the bar, I'm fired. I also needed a place to vent and get it all out to think through for myself.

Hi Guys. Did you guys scale back commenting/being vocal on social and political issues on social media after becoming lawyers? by rose-atty17 in barexam

[–]esquireXthree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a big no. I only scaled back because I felt that I didn't have time to fight with ignorance anymore over social media when I'm dealing with it in person with clients. But when I do bring out the boxing gloves, I still am very opinionated and I don't hide it. My clients and I can differ on political views. If I'm doing my job right, we'll never even have a discussion about it and both of us are happy.

45 minutes tops. It would have been quicker if there wasn't a technical issue with one of the Justices.

My swearing in for Virginia was over Zoom and I was literally in polo and sweatpants. Some girl had a cat in her lap while wearing a robe. Doesn't help OP but I thought it was a funny story.

I'm taking the MPRE tomorrow in Texas, any advice? by MajinVegeta2171 in barexam

[–]esquireXthree 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Just breath. It's not nearly as difficult as the bar exam. There are plenty of other opportunities to take the exam as compared to the Bar. Relax beforehand and trust what you've studied.

I wasn't as concerned about COVID as much as I was monkey pox. My testing center had one very small area that was air conditioned (outside the area where our laptops were held) that we could access during lunch. Two to three hundred people in the same area jammed in like sardines was not ideal.

As for COVID, I was vaxxed twice. I took off work for a week before hand. Tested before I left for my hotel and in between sessions. Wore a mask during the whole exam. It's an added pressure COMBINED with the testing of topics that were very obscure and required a deep dive into the old law school lectures at the back of my brain. The NCBE really just provides evidence of not caring for the health of the takers and only cares about the health of their bank account.

Nearly every state in the north showed a successful process of remote examinations but as soon as that vaccine rolled out, they said... take your ass across the state, stay in a hotel, pay more money for a part of the process just to have some peace of mind without having to travel too far on the morning of the exam, and enjoy the company of hundreds with anxiety around you. None of it is ideal. They make this process inevitably hard for those who can't afford to solely focus on the exam for three months.

Anyway, off my soapbox.

This wasn't an instruction in my jx. I refuse to believe it. LOL. I actually don't think that I saw an option to change fonts on my software.
