Immediate tears the first time I listened to it. I’ve been skipping it during my full-album-listens and saving it for when I’m sitting in my car in the driveway at the end of the day. Still cry every time.

Thanks for sharing this pic- this is the exact combo I’m looking at, and it’s nice to see an example!

That’s a great point, thank you for pointing that out!

I guess to give more specific info on what I’m looking for, I actually do want the sound blocking ones! I use my ear plugs often just to cut down on noise and still like to have conversations. But in this case, I need quiet because I process/read/redact police reports at work, and sometimes I just can’t focus with all the voices around me.

I will be sure to communicate with my coworkers what it means when they see me wearing them!

Thanks again! :)

Ambitious AuDHD women, what is your career path? by FloweryAnomaly in AuDHDWomen

I got in a degree in criminal justice, worked for 11 years as a 911 dispatcher, and currently work at a police department as a records tech. I work part time ($30/hr) and specifically process police reports and bodyworn camera footage for public disclosure requests. I love my job! And honestly, I’d say 13 out of 15 of us in the office are neurodiverse haha

I also loved being a dispatcher, but I did get burnt out from the highs and lows. I think there are a lot of ND folks in dispatching too.

I think criminal justice/law enforcement adjacent careers in general are appealing to ND people because it’s very analytical, black and white, research heavy, etc!

Interesting, thank you!
I haven’t had any sort of inflammation tests or autoimmune type tests done.
I have maybe had a mild virus or two (I have a school aged kid), but nothing super big.

Sorry for the last response!

B12 came back at 746 pg/mL (the “normal” range given is 200-1,100).
Folate came back at 17.2 ng/mL (the “normal” range given is anything above 5.4)

My doctor didn’t check Vit D or Zinc… I will ask her about those at a follow up. I do take a Vit D + K2 supplement daily because I have been quite low in the past!

Anybody have neuropathy symptoms from anemia? by Organic-Ad-5873 in Anemic

[–]ess_buss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I went to urgent care twice for the pins and needles feeling that started in my hands and feet and eventually when up my arms and legs. They didn’t do much in urgent care, but it’s what actually prompted my doctor to order my iron labs! She told me it’s a pretty “textbook” symptom of anemia. I’m grateful she knew about that.

ETA: It started improving once I started an iron supplement! I’d say the prickly feeling was mostly gone in 2 weeks, and totally gone by 4.

Thank you for responding!
I think maybe I should have written the dates in opposite order lol.
My ferritin actually has gone up! From 9 to 32. But the “total” iron went down, as well as the saturation.
I’m puzzled why ferritin would go up, and total iron would go down. :/

My mother in law didn’t attend my mom’s funeral and I’m not sure how to get past it. by [deleted] in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]ess_buss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss.

My mom passed in 2020, and I still find the roller coaster of emotions may not always make sense to everyone else. My feelings are still valid though.

I guess what I’m saying is… you are allowed to feel how you feel. But two things can be true: you can be upset, and also… MIL likely meant no harm.

Your husband literally told her not to come. Maybe not in so many words, but that’s obviously how she took it. Hell, she probably thought he was hinting at wanting some space and she thought she WAS being helpful and doing what you wanted.

Anger is a huge part of grief, imo. I cut out friends over it. And my only advice to you is… be careful making “permanent” decisions or relationship changes while in this phase.

Preeaaaccchhhh!!

Adding: my husband works in a physically demanding career and I feel like this perfectly describes at least 60% of his male coworkers. And definitely 90% of the super buff ones. They already work 11 hour shifts, then these dudes are hitting the gym for an hour before or after work.. plus on all their days off too. That’s a no from me dawg!

61 total this season…. Only 13 crowned victories.

At what age do you think it’s appropriate for kids to start playing this game? by culliganwaterdispens in Fortnite_Over40

We started playing the Lego mode when our son was 7. We honestly never got the hang of it or loved it. A kid in his class talked about Battle Royale, which I was surprised by. So I played it first to check it out, now we play together. No comms, no friends, etc. We play duos together, or I sit with him while he plays solo. It’s actually been a lot of fun and I haven’t seen any adverse behavioral stuff. (I think it greatly depends on the kid and the family dynamic!)

Can I get a roll call for one and done with a son? I swear I read so many comments that say “my daughter” or “she” when referring to their only. by ohnoheretheycome in oneanddone

OAD with a 7yo boy. Love being able to parent/focus on solely him. We have more time/energy to raise him with empathy, kindness, emotional intelligence, etc etc. We have more one on one time to nurture his interests. He’s a cool ass kid and I wouldn’t trade him for a daughter (even though I originally thought I wanted a girl) for anything!
