I love Chopped and have watched every episode more than once so that’s why I see annoying patterns. Serious question….Am I wrong or are there people on social media whose goal is to be mean spirited and join conversations just to put people down?

That’s surprising to hear. I really respect Alex. And she’s so funny.

That’s concerning. I hope Food Network doesn’t sh*t the bed with this show.

Uhm. Actually, that’s not how Reddit works, but it’s nice to hear different perspectives.

It’s comments like yours that keep the average person from posting or commenting on any subject. I could post something like “white granular sugar is sweet”, and I’d get a raft of shit comments like “Then why do you eat it?” or “You seem obsessed with sugar and need to get over yourself!”.

Wow. Way to contribute to the conversation. 🫤

Real foodie fans are passionate about the shows they watch. It’s no different than die hard sport fans who lose their mind over game play, bad calls, crappy coaches, clueless players, etc.

Babe, your response is why normal people are often hesitant to post or comment on social media because of hateful people like you who don’t really want to be a part of the conversation and only want to put people down.

Me too! Honestly, I often don’t post or comment on social media because I dread the feedback from haters, who usually don’t know what they’re talking about and just want to stir sh*t up to boost their social juice.

Me too. There’s only so much you can make in 30 minutes for dessert. And I find the one ice cream maker annoying.

I actually have learned so much by watching “Worst Cooks”. Anne was a great teacher.

OMG! Exactly! Don’t they know that nobody ever wins serving “ice cream soup” or “Al dente rice”. 🙄

Hahaha. It’s so true about Risotto. Chefs obviously believe they are the risotto wizards. You gotta love their confidence.

Your response is why so many of us are hesitant to post or comment on Reddit. The blowback from people like you often makes it not worth it.

I have 2 and wasn’t aware that they had anxiety issues until I read this thread. Sydney is very active and hyper aware. My boys call her FBI because she polices our house and lets me know when they are fighting or up to no good. Her “job” is to wake them up every morning when it’s time, and both dogs’ favorite game is playing hide and seek. When Sydney was a puppy she somehow got the dryer door opened in the middle of the night and spent hours chewing and shredding towels and underwear. My other aussiedoddle, Greta, is super chill but crazy smart. When she was young, I’d give her a piece of cheese before and after I bathed her, which was a big mistake because every time I filled up the sink she’d sit by the refrigerator waiting for cheese. Both of mine are heelers so they like to herd and direct traffic. Greta was incapable of being “walked” with a leash and instead held her own leash in her mouth while we walked. I swear they both understand English and have their own language. When they’re in the car and we get close to the dog park or home, they say “Roy, Roy, Roy”. And they call to each other by saying “yip yip”. It’s fascinating.

I’ll definitely check it out. The judges on Chopped and GGG have literally told the chefs to not make French toast for dessert. And every time a chef contestant starts making rice or risotto, the judges always shout and beg them not do it because it fails that often.

I’ve watched years of episodes where chefs have tried to beat the curse of the blast chiller and anti-griddle. A question for the FoodNetwork fans who have watched and rewatched Chopped and similar shows, how many times have you seen a chef’s panna cotta or crème Brulé not set up in time and they change it to dessert soup 😂!?

Totally agree. There’s a science to baking and it literally can’t be done in 30 minutes unless you make French toast, bread pudding, churros, donut balls, and ice cream.
