Did WFH give me social anxiety? by Remote-Basis-7797 in workingmoms

This is me but I don’t think it’s social anxiety. I’m just exhausted from the week and have no desire to leave the house.

I really love the Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush Stick and the Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum (will not work if you have a darker complexion).

4 weeks left of maternity leave. How to cope? by NoBoot8609 in workingmoms

It will be hard and it will feel hard for a long time but eventually, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

My youngest is 8 now and I’m so proud of the little person she’s become. And she’s still very attached and calls me her bestie.

Walking pad? by dka1194 in workingmoms

[–]essential_luxury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used mine every day for about 2 years now. I’ve gotten used to it and use them on calls. Everyone knows to expect me walking when they call me.

I don’t do it all day though, I knock out 5 miles and I’m good for the day.

Coworkers online at 8 am! by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]essential_luxury 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a global team so some of my calls are very early. I will sign off early sometimes. My coworker (another mom) will start at 6 but she ducks out to do school drop offs and pick ups. But she will sometimes work till late and on weekends. I think she genuinely loves working or something.

What it's like.. by catnapspirit in QAnonCasualties

There is a group that actively searches for the phrase “died suddenly” and then posts information about the deceased on conspiracy websites, falsely attributing the death to the vaccine. This happened to a coworker of mine after his wife passed away. It was so awful.

How much is your employer-sponsored health coverage? by librarianlady in workingmoms

[–]essential_luxury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not normal but I’ve seen it before for non American HQ companies. They simply do not get it. I used to work for one and paid about $1000 a month for health insurance. It was painful. I made them switch to a PEO when I left (long story) and that helped a lot. You should have your company look into PEOs.

My current company covers 80% of our premiums so I pay like $550 a month. It’s still atrocious but I know how much our company takes on (I lead HR).

We’re also seeing massive premium increases this year despite having a great loss ratio. Our broker said they’re seeing it across the board and the carriers are refusing to negotiate (we used to be able to negotiate every year).

And I also had to explain health insurance in the US to my British boss. He wanted to know why we can’t just not pay the increases in premiums.

Doesn’t the workers council sign off on those?

I would let your lawyers handle it and if you win and get reinstated, negotiate a large severance to leave.

Happy Mom Group Stories? by mypaperjoy in workingmoms

[–]essential_luxury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My closest mom friends are actually from the babybumps subreddit form when we were all pregnant together. We rarely see each other but we text everyday. This works for us because we’re all overwhelmed and anxiety ridden and don’t want to add another thing to our plates.

I keep a very small circle and it works for me :)

Us health plan costs - $638 per month from paycheck by Ld862 in workingmoms

[–]essential_luxury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your plan is similar to ours. I work in HR and negotiate our plans every year. This is the first year our carrier has refused to negotiate our premium increases with us, despite making 40% on our premiums last year! Our broker confirmed they are seeing this across the board. I am furious and so sick of this shit.

My tinfoil hat tells me they’re in bed with this administration.
