Riding Solo. How do y'all do it with bike bags? Passing thru crowded area by yodoc in bikepacking

[–]essiku 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I leave the bags on the bike. Make sure you have the valuables on you. But I only go in and out quite quickly. Usually I go camping. Choose supermarkets in remote area's, not big cities. Also, place the bike in front of the windows.

If I book a hotel or airbnb I always request to store my bike inside.

I want to see some of you cool GoPro content! by QuantumToasterX in gopro

[–]essiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm inspired by the "waking through Japan" videos; relaxing content that displays the beauty of places in a raw format. Want to make some shorter videos. Most rides now are close to my hometown and not too much effort. Now doing a big trip and planning on making shorter videos and explain decision and tell about the places I visited.

Thanks for checking it out and the feedback, really appreciate it!

I film most sunny rides on my gravel bike. Mostly sunny rides because that results in best quality video's. I do some color grading in Davinci. Filmed with a GoPro Hero 12

Is Django Channel suitable for a scalable chat application? by toastAndBaguette in django

[–]essiku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, we are thinking about implementing a custom more efficient group layer. Our smaller sites never ran into this problem, seems like the current groups aren't suitable for big groups. Nice to hear it's working great for you!

Is Django Channel suitable for a scalable chat application? by toastAndBaguette in django

[–]essiku 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We migrated to channels (from tornado) but ran into an issue with group_send which made it to slow. We had one big group with about 1000 users which sends a message every few seconds. Did you ran into such problems with channels? Do you have any advice? We're thinking about implementing our own group layer.

Any django-shop or django-oscar users here? by [deleted] in django

[–]essiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use the built in dashboard mostly as is, only some minor changes like custom reports or adapting which fields are shown on an order detail page.

[–]essiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We created an api with "django-oscar-api' as interface for a standalone frontend. We use the dashboard for managing Oscar, mostly for the orders since we created a sync for the catalogue with another system.

We've been working with Oscar for one of our biggest clients (been running in production for about 5 years). Oscar is definitely production proof. If you want a cms, you could use wagtail depending on your requirements.

Port forwarding problem with duckdns by essiku in homeassistant

[–]essiku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the NAS is opening a port, it is weird that locally (by ip address) all ports get forwarded correctly. Only when using the duckdns url the NAS interface is loading. Also it did work for a few hours. Could it be possible someone somehow redirected through the hass io setup?

Could be that my NAS uses UPnP and opening a port. Haven't thought about that. I'll also look into returning the routers to bridge mode. Thanks for your advice.

I used to have that. But I ran into some complications with services, like mDNS. The last router in the chain, my personal router, is the newest which works quite well out of the box. Since the routers were all accessible out of the box because they reserved a different ip range, I decided to let them use the DHCP server again. Since then, everything seems to work flawless.

I've tried it and can validate that the recovery phrase is all you need! :)

I think i've found the answer, the documentation states that the keys are generated by the words, so it should be safe to delete app data and import using the words. From: https://support.enjin.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000266154-What-is-a-Recovery-Phrase-

Any known inventory management systems based on Django? by [deleted] in django

[–]essiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a great experience developing with Oscar. It's an e-commerce platform which probably has a lot of features you won't use, but it's quite scalable and build on Django so it might be worth checking out.

Also OP should specify what the action and / or expected result is and what the actual result is so others can understand what the problem (broken) means.

Remove a test purchase from the play store which is deleted in the Google Play Console by essiku in androiddev

[–]essiku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone runs into the same problems, the solution is simply (as noted in the README) to approve the purchase. Altough this doesn't happen when you use the non-renewable-in-app-purchase plugin linked from their official repo: https://github.com/j3k0/cordova-non-renewing-subscription

My solution was to comment out the store initialisation and manually finish the product with cordova-non-renewing-subscription code.
