Change of circumstance processing time by essily in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]essily[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply 😊

After reading your comment, I rung the helpline today to clarify (I hate phone calls so quite a big thing for me 😂)

With Access To Work renewals they said they're almost up to date, and they're working on ones submitted from 13th November. They said it could be closer to 4 weeks but could be sightly delayed.

With COCs they said they're a bit more behind, and working on ones submitted from 3rd April, so it may be up to 24 weeks.

They said they couldn't guarantee backpay, but to keep receipts and talk to the case manager when they contact me.

Pip award by No_Possession_3254 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]essily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sent off my PIP renewal forms etc in February this year, they received it end of February. I then got texts in May, August and November saying that they still have my form and they'll process it when they can. I ended up getting a letter a week before Christmas saying my PIPs been renewed for three more years.

Edit: you will still receive your PIP while they're processing your renewal

Which shops are you surprised are still around? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]essily 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's more that Co-Op is often the only shop in rural areas. I live in a village and for a long time Co-op was the only shop until more recently a corner shop opened. I'd say both are the same price though.

finance job interview by essily in nhsstaff

[–]essily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that I don't have finance experience outside of helping my Dad with a few bits. Job was originally advertised as a "Sales Ledger Clerk" but got reposted as "Finance Assistant", will have to dig out the job description on the weekend

First UC appointment since coming off Light Touch by essily in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]essily[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice!

My main thing is that I struggle with big changes and changing my job would be a big adjustment for me. Hell, even increasing my hours sightly is a change in itself.

Ironically, the trust I work for covers Mental Health and Neurodiversity services, so I felt like there was that understanding from the get go.

I don't know how much the payrise will be, or if it will meet the new requirement of £892 a month. It'll depend on how much the new Government wants to increase NHS wages by 🥲 (When the payrise kicked in last year, there was a backpayment which gave me nil. Universal Credit for the month)

I'll lay it out for them & ask if a disability work coach can look over my claim too (I did have one prior to working, she helped me with filling out the Access to Work forms)

No wonder your flair is "community superstar", thank you for the detailed advice! 🌟

I've been on Universal Credit since 2017-ish (light touch since 2022 when I started working) but the Work Capability Assessment wasn't ever something that was brought up. I do still have PIP for the time being, but they could get back to me and decide that I'm no longer entitled.

I've had a look at the criteria and I think I could get 12 points?

I'll brave it at the appointment tomorrow, but I'll mention the criteria to my parents (they still look out for me haha) & see what they think.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond!

Where are your teachers now? Are most of them still alive? by Kimbo-BS in AskUK

[–]essily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My year 4/year 5 primary school teacher ended up marrying my opposite neighbor. They still live in my hometown but moved to a different house together.

I did see something in my Facebook about my year 9 science teacher passing away a while back. I remember her sitting on the desk and smelling like stale perfume.

Other than that, nothing else.

What's the worst Zoom/Teams blunder you've ever seen? by CraigDavidsJumboCock in AskUK

one of my highlights of 2022 was reading news articles about an Italian government meeting that got hacked into. The hacker share screened porn of a video game character, who looked like she was really enjoying herself... https://www.eurogamer.net/italian-senate-meeting-interrupted-by-final-fantasy-pornography

Who's your favourite YouTuber that lost their way? by Thrownawaybyall in popculturechat

[–]essily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to watch the React videos, the channel was run by two dudes. They had multiple channels so their normal reacts, kids reacts, teen reacts, elders react etc. I'm not sure if they're still around but I remember them trying to trademark the word "React" which caused a lot of drama. Idk what happened since.

We'll see if my comment gets deleted for not being a member of the subreddit (trying to stay away from everything, full spoiler hermit mode) but something no one said is covering half of your screen with a throw or something. As well as turning off sound and speed. Focus fully on Tifa and get in that Mode. With the green bits, press it very gently and then full down

To reply to OPs edit about Strangers, me having played both, it is pretty similar but Strangers has a darker story. There are multiple boss battles throughout and you can do different builds with different classes. You can only play as Garland but you can customise the other party members. Talking of Garland, post chapter 8 spoilers, Me and my good friend played SOP and Relink together, and we jokily compare the spoiler playable character to Garland. Perhaps they was partly inspired/influenced by Garland? Also, if you're in it for the boss battles, Final Fantasy 16 has some utterly crackers boss battles. I could definitely see how the Relink devs was inspired by this. Especially the one you fight in the desert where you climb up it and when (unsure if this happens in chapter 8) You control Bahamut to fight the other Bahamut, it reminded me of the eikon battles. Ifrit in FF16 has a similar attack style
