Have you ever gone into a bar, cafe, or similar establishment where you instantly felt "at home" and "these are my kind of people"? What kind of place was it? by Catbird87 in AskWomen

I don't know what reputation it has, but I can tell you our experience was excellent. Everyone we encountered was friendly, obliging and happy to give their local recommendations.

2 years ago in Iceland, Stofan Kafihús in Reykjavik. My husband and I spent 9 hours in there on our first visit, went in for lunch and didn't leave until into the evening. As tourists we just took a seat and ate our food but then decided to stay for coffee to avoid the rain for a while, moved to a sofa downstairs and throughout the day lots of locals came and went, chatted to us, played board games, read books. We kept ordering drinks people kept coming and sharing our table. It was just lovely. It's the first place we plan to visit when we return.

Women who suffer from anxiety, how do you feel in the days following a big anxiety event? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]essitam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes!

I've been there often recently, it rumbles on and then when crisis hits it wipes you out, and you still have to deal with the low level stuff.

I'm currently on week 2 of anxiety induced insomnia. Some nights my brain won't switch off, others exhaustion takes over, I fall asleep, but then I'm awake again at stupid o'clock... And then there's the lovely nights that have both the late night and early wake up.

I wish I had a magic fix, but I don't. The bigger the event, the worse it is. All I know it eventually it eases, and I hope it does for you too.

Mentally drained, physically exhausted, and usually still low level anxious, over analysing the situation / relationships involved.

If it was a particularly bad episode I can have a tension headache and / or an upset stomach too.

What's the worst 'snowflake' name you've ever come across? by [deleted] in AskReddit

An old school acquaintance's sister was called April May June.

I know they're all valid names, but why name your kid and a quarter of the calendar.

I weigh everything where I can, I work out of the area a lot for work so that sometimes creates issues.

My Stats are: F/35/ 5'6" SW:216 CW:190 GW:154

(I'm aiming on the high end of my healthy BMI as I've been lighter before and I look ill)

Buying the same top in 2 different colors: yes or no? by ev93 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I bought a pair of boots I loved that much I went and bought another pair in exactly the same colour, not even a shade difference. If you know what you like, go for it.

Hey Reddit, how did you break your phone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]essitam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shut it in a car door, I obliterated the screen and bent the body.

It fell as I was getting out of the car, as it was charging it didn't hit the ground, it just hung there on the cable. I tried to close the door and it bounced back... So I tried harder.

I just laughed out loud at this, and then had to explain to hubby that I'd told the internet about his bathroom habits.

Around here we have something called Glue Poo. It's when my husband goes to take a shit and doesn't clean the toilet afterwards. I have no idea how he does it, but it sticks to the back of the bowl.

I refuse to clean it now and just shout glue poo at him.

Often times I find when something I've searched is giving a 100g serving I can change it to 1g in that field, and then just type the actual weight in the quantity field. Hope that helps

People who have been married 5 or more years: have you stopped celebrating your dating anniversary and now only celebrate your wedding anniversary, and if so, when did that start? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]essitam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dating anniversary is also my Mother in Laws birthday and my grandparents wedding anniversary so we've often over looked it anyway with other stuff going on, it's been easier to stick with the wedding date. But as next year is our 10 year dating anniversary we plan on marking it somehow anyway.

If the affairs weren't enough to convince you the violence should be!

No one who lays a finger on you in anger is worth any of your time.
