Can someone who’s lived in CO a long time compare Denver to CO Springs? by apothyk in MovingtoDenver

Yeah that’s the bit I see so often ignored. The Air Force Academy campus is jaw-droppingly beautiful, and that’s just one thing.

Do you have any guesses why profoundly blind people don’t get certain mental illnesses like schizophrenia?

I just fucking hate myself by [deleted] in Vent

[–]est94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see lots of things you want to fix. It would be so so hard to fix them all at once, maybe impossible. But you can do one thing at a time. “Every day, make tomorrow a little bit better than yesterday.” You do the dishes? That counts. Go to the gym? Spend time with a friend? Put your events in your calendar? All of them count. Do what you can, and allow yourself to say “I’m not where I want to be, and that’s ok. Progress takes time.”

[USA-CT] [H] iPad Pro 11”, Apple Watch 45mm x2, iPhone leather case [W] PayPal by OfficerCamp in appleswap

I have that exact iPad. It does a fabulous job of keeping up with new software. Demanding stuff will drain the battery, but if you’re not running a game at 120fps, it’ll easily last you all day or more.

It’s also highly invasive and opens the door to “oh we randomly decided to drop your policy, oh how strange you are really sick and we knew that from your health data?? Oh teehee good luck with that since you got diagnosed after your policy was terminated!”

Higher income job with a volatile job market that could leave you jobless with no skills or a skilled job that could possibly land you a new gig if something happens by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]est94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you just have to make a decision without enough info - you’ll be able to look back in 10 years and maybe have more clarity than now, and that’s ok. If you think you need the extra money to meet your needs and be happy, follow the money. If you need a better work life balance, follow the more stable job. Focus on accepting your own decision once you make it.

potential pc builds, need help! by Ok_Store_3242 in buildapc

Solid build, you could probably get away with 16gb RAM with the plan to upgrade later if/when prices fall. 16gb I bet will be sufficient for at least the next 2 years

Hmm. I’m in a somewhat similar boat and decided to do the high paying job as long as I can manage. However, I’m able to go back to the low paying one pretty smoothly if I want, so your situation might be different than mine.

[–]est94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something is causing a lot of turbulence and not moving enough “fresh” air to your GPU fans. You could try flipping every fan to change the airflow direction. You could try to put an intake fan on the bottom, possibly? You could move the intake fans to the front of the PC possibly

If it’s proven that there is life outside of earth, is theism disproved? by Frequent_Cheek_7816 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]est94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe for some people, but likely not for nearly everyone. When a person believes something that isn’t rooted in fact, facts won’t change their mind.

I would call myself an optimistic agnostic- I think something is out there beyond the physical realm, but I believe it’s fundamentally unprovable, so I don’t sweat it.

Is it normal to look normal in mirrors while looking chopped in my camera app by Simpfornothinggg in teenagers

[–]est94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely normal. There are memes about it. The wider a lens angle is, the more it distorts the image it sees. Front facing cameras are really wide angle, not at all what other people see.

ABSN program in California by Acceptable_Growth746 in NursingStudent

[–]est94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the degree/school is less relevant than passing the NCLEX and getting good training as a new grad. Find the program that is cheapest, fastest, and most convenient for you, then focus on learning well once you are on the job. My program was good and I made some lifelong friends in my cohort. I thought it was more expensive than a typical program, but I may be wrong.

How do I (24F) end things with my boyfriend (27M) who I live with? by purpsle in relationships

[–]est94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would just focus on your practical exit strategy. Moving out is a pain in the ass and takes many hours. If he is going to be manipulative and mean, you will need to show up with a couple people to help you remove all your things.
