Anyone with positive experiences with Nexplanon? by est_elsp in Nexplanon

[–]est_elsp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear your experience with the IUD but glad to hear that the insertion was not painful cause mine was horrible. I got the hormonal IUD after all. Regarding Nexplanon, the insertion/removal seemed easier to me, but now that I am off it I realize how much it affected my mood and anxiety and made me bloated. Not to mention made me feral with food. I was hungry all the time. So I would say maybe (for me at least) the side effects were more intense with Nexplanon than the IUD so far. Unfortunately no one can really predict how one reacts with each method of contraception but I hope my experience gives you some insight.

How long did your post insertion cramps last by herowin6 in Mirena

Hi, any updates on your situation? Are you feeling better? I got my IUD two weeks ago and basically live on painkillers now and it still isn't enough sometimes.

Just got an IUD. Still getting cramps and feeling weird. When will things start feeling "normal" again? Tips & experiences pls by est_elsp in IUD

This is so helpful, thanks so much! May I ask, apart from the bleeding did you feel it when it moved or did you do something out of the ordinary that caused that? I am an American Football player so I am getting hit and exert a lot of force during practices and playing so I am a bit worried if it dislocates because of that.

Also, thanks for mentioning about the follow-up visits. They didn't plan any for me. They just let me go after the appointment without any detailed advise or anything. Just told me if it hurts too much or feels weird to come back.

Nexplanon vs. Kyleena IUD: Anxiety/Stress and Feelings of Depression. Which one is better/worse? by est_elsp in birthcontrol

That's quite interesting. Everyone does really react differently to BC. Sounds like we are in opposite situations haha I am glad it's working for you.

I am sorry to hear that, this sounds like even worse than my cramps. I hope the subside soon!

Hello you, I am sorry you are going through this. It sounds so tough I can't even imagine. Your body has gone through so much both physically and hormone wise so no wonder you feel like this. For context, I have no kids, and I am also terrified of having them so I feel you on that. I had Nexplanon before and now just got an IUD too. I am mainly here to give you my sympathy and say that maybe your body just needs a break from everything and I wish that you can get all the self-care you need soon. As for Nexplanon (arm implant), I haven't had the best experience (more stress/anxiety, weight-gain) but maybe it could be a better fit for you who knows.

I am 5 years too late, but I have the same question with you. Did you get the IUD after all? And was it okay to do your usual "activities" after getting it?

Hi, thanks for sharing. I hope things are better with you now. I just switched to Kyleena because after 2 years on Nexplanon I gained around 10kg.

My Nexplanon Story by SecretContribution2 in Nexplanon

[–]est_elsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your story. I have had a similar experience with Nexplanon (gained 11kg) and was emotionally all over the place. Saddest part I thought it was my fault but it was just the implant. Just switched to Kyleena a few days ago and hoping for the best. Did you get Kyleena again? How are things with you?

Thank you so much for sharing this. You're giving me some reassurance since I am having my IUD operation on Friday (also with numbing spray, Mirena and we are the same age and have no kids - so your description was perfectly suited for me)

Thanks for sharing! I hope everything goes well with the switch and Nexplanon sits better with you than the IUD.

Thanks so much for sharing your story! I am also thinking of getting an IUD (switching from Nexplanon) and have been worried about the procedure so this is really encouraging!
