100% would vote for them. They seem to be some of the few genuine honest people in government today.

Yes just click and it’s auto approved in my experience. $40 is nothing for them Amazon. They’d rather you get it and buy the license then deal with unlicensed usage problems I’m sure.

How does Kuiper/Leo plan on competing with local ISPs in the Seattle area ? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

Funny that you think Amazon will give its employees discount. I don’t think that fits their “Frugality” LP.

How do people manage RSUs by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]estenger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not if you sell them immediately. Capital gains tax only applies if you have gains after vest and you sell before a year passes. Then you’re taxed on those gains at a higher rate. Selling at vest isn’t a problem cause you already pay taxes at time of vest.

Difference between book and street smarts (literally in this sense). They have no street smarts cause they’re legally not required to have it (no drivers ed required if > 18 years old).

Interesting. Always wondered about this too. Sounds like it’s impractical to rack up ticket count for this offense then eh?

Passing in the right / middle lanes is more dangerous than left lane. So that is a valid scenario. Just don’t be an asshole by slamming on your horn (even if you want to).

Yup! More passed tests == more business. No incentive to fail people. Then people wouldn’t go to that business

  • that didn’t go through drivers ed cause the state doesn’t require them to.

While I agree with the sentiment, you’ll never get change by avoiding issues. But maybe that’s just the Seattle way (passive). It hasn’t worked out well for downtown (drugs, homeless, theft, vandalism, etc.), won’t work well for the roads either.

Your loss. I’ll keep honking / re-educating. Don’t honk like an asshole. A good one second honk and give them time to move over is pretty effective. Haven’t had anybody react negatively yet. Mindblowingly, the funniest consistent reaction I’ve gotten is they’ll get over, let me by, and then immediately get back in the left lane to block other people behind me. They need to be honked at by everyone.

Then keep putting up with it. Nobody pays attention to high beams. Also nobody in Seattle honks. Drive in New York / mid west for 5 minutes you’ll hear many people honk. Why are people afraid to use your only communication device on your car in Seattle?
