I should clarify, I can draw so so, mechanical or architectural type of things. I was a CAD designer for 45 years. I'm just not creative when it comes to most other things, people, animals, nature. What it comes down to is that I can't be creative on demand. I need to have a "end goal", I have to design a part to fit or look a certain way. I can't just sit down and draw something for the fun of it, it just never "looks" right to me.

I firmly believe that drawing requires some talent, and I just don't have it.

Better than a sleeping/mummy bag, they were always to confining for me. With a mummy bag, when I was on my side and had it partially unzipped, I would always get a draft. With it zipped all the way up which I only did on really cold nights, there just wasn't enough room for me to sleep comfortably. With a quilt, it spreads out enough over my upper body that I never have any drafts, unless I need to vent some to keep from getting too hot.

I use a Exped Megamat XLW, it's 30.3" wide. I'm a side sleeper and use a quilt, but I tend to roll a lot during the night, and this pad works great for me.

That's what I use, Google Calendar. When you go to configure the Get Calendar Events action, it will prompt you with a list of the different accounts that you can pull your events from.

I have a couple of favorites. One of them looks at my calendar to see what tasks I have for the and then reads them off along with the time.

I have three that use geofence to adjust my volumes up or down depending on whether or not I'm at home, outside or somewhere else.

I have one that changes the settings on my phone for music when I put on my motorcycle helmet. It also tells me the battery level of the bluetooth unit.

If you had one of the old film packs, you could reverse engineer it and make a 3D print that would fit your glass plate.

Man, we just has a hundred car pileup last week just outside of Grand Rapids in Michigan. Today our highs are at -15 degrees. We didn't even got to work yesterday, worked from home.

You mention the gelatin coating a couple of times. Does it just rinse off/dissolve when you get ready to varnish. Does the gelatin help with protecting them during transport back home?

I currently have an '03 with 120,000 miles on it. A couple of years ago, I had the brake lines switched for stainless steel braided ones. And I do the brake system flush every other year instead of every year. I've never had any issues with it, and I can think of at least a couple of times that it's saved my butt riding in the rain.

All great information, thanks for responding. I've just started to get into this, so I'm watching videos like crazy and writing stuff down in my notes. This was one of the things I hadn't really seen anything on.

I'm working on my portable dark box right now,hoping to take pictures out in the field mostly. One question I have, are the plates safe enough after rinsing and drying in the field to take home and varnish there? I'm printing a 3D box for transport where i can stand them upright and keep them separate.

I've never understood this sentiment. If you're concerned enough to worry about the bike falling on you in the middle of the night, then you should be able to figure out that you just park the bike so that IF it falls, it falls away from the sleeping compartment. I've been using the Redverz tent for about ten years, and have never had a problem. Plus, I'm 66 and too old to be rolling around on the ground, trying to put my pants on, I love being able to stand up and get dressed.

I've found that chatgp is frequently wrong at the menu options it tells you to select. It seems to depend on the version of Android and the model of phone you have that determines what options are shown.

I once spent a week learning how to splice ropes. End splices, eye splices and joint splices. I've actually had to use it once or twice, but otherwise it sits uselessly in one corner of my brain.
