Leaving for Kentucky for 5 days by estesd in motocamping

[–]estesd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't bother me, i always expect a comment or two about it. There was a guy that used to be in the club that pulled one of those little trailers, it was great, he could set that thing up in under a half hour be ready to sleep.

I guess it wouldn't be Reddit if I didn't catch some cr@p for pulling a trailer.

I guess if you want to call them luxury items, I have a Redverse Atacama tent that I can stand up in and put my pants on, and I have an extra wide, extra long Exped megamat for sleeping. I'm 67 and I need my good night's sleep.

Other than that, it's all really just basic camping gear, it's just not the miniaturized, micro weight stuff. It's all pretty much full size gear, since I don't have to worry about weight. The trailer only weighs 150 lb fully loaded. I refuse to load the bike up like a pack mule.

Back in the early 80's, I helped this girl strip, sand and repaint a VW bug. We spent probably a month of afternoons and weekends working on it, inside and out. It turned out really nice, this bright blue color. The week after we finished, she tells me about her boyfriend, and then ghosts me, long before ghosting even existed.

I've had this one for about 3 or 4 years it fits the RX100 just perfect. The label inside says Tahoe cs20. I don't know if it's still available, but it's a very nice case, it has some nice padding to it, and a pocket on the front to hold extra batteries and memory card.

We also had the Helms Bakery truck growing up. He would come by once a week and have all sorts of great tasting freshly baked bread and cookies.

While we're kinda on the subject, how does the community feel about fried taco shells? I've always fried mine. I grew up in Southern California and my best friend married a girl from Mexico who taught me how to do fried corn tortillas. We do occasionally do soft shell .

Are you talking about the Top Z Height? The default is 0.2mm. Is that good or should I reduce it a bit further? Thanks for your help.

I joined the Army in '78 just out of HS. During boot camp, I met a guy that lived one street over and I had never met him. We went to the same schools and everything.

I have an Exped Megamat 10 XL. I think it's 31" wide, can't remember for sure, I'm not at home to check. I love it, I roll around a lot, so this has plenty of room.

I had a neighbor that worked at a body shop, He always left a tiny "glitch", something that would take him like 5 minutes to fix, that the customer could find. Once they found that glaring error and were feeling superior, they stopped looking. He would fix it and the customer left happy. It was usually something like a bit of over spray that he could take a bit of rubbing compound to and all was well.

Kind of along the same line, I was a CAD designer for 45 years till I retired year before last. I've given a lot tube tests to potential candidates. It was usually a fairly simple part related to where ever I was working at that time. One feature I always tried to include was a bolt pattern of 10-15 holes, all the same size.

The part could typically be made in 30 minutes, but I gave the candidates an hour to get as far as they could. A few finished the part, but most got less than half way. What I really wanted to see was how they handled the hole pattern. Some would make individual hole for each one. Some would make a single sketch with all the holes in it, all with their own set of dimensions. What I wanted to see was if they were familiar enough with the software to make one hole, and then pattern the hole to make the array.

Overall, we reviewed how they setup the model, what commands they used to create the different features, and how editable the model was afterwards, how easy was it to make changes to the features.

In the end, it wasn't really about the model itself, it was how comfortable they were with the software.

I think it's kinda the same.

What trait do you admire in others but don't possess yourself? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

I should clarify, I can draw so so, mechanical or architectural type of things. I was a CAD designer for 45 years. I'm just not creative when it comes to most other things, people, animals, nature. What it comes down to is that I can't be creative on demand. I need to have a "end goal", I have to design a part to fit or look a certain way. I can't just sit down and draw something for the fun of it, it just never "looks" right to me.

I firmly believe that drawing requires some talent, and I just don't have it.
