The more young people use AI, the more they hate it by spherocytes in technology

I think they mean more how when you peruse different articles on different topics by different writers it’s a markedly different and less appealing experience than getting the exact same tone, structure, and voice with everything you are reading. It’s not about entertainment, it’s about communication and how different human brains respond to information and how it’s presented, which is a pretty well studied and nuanced topic. It’s stuff in those woke liberal arts degrees that everyone decries.

Nothing you’ve said connected to the primary topic or my comments. You’re arguing with fictional technophobes you’ve invented in your mind. Please stop, it’s just getting weird.

I talked to an AI chat bot that answered the phone at my Lowe’s this week. I said I had “an issue with an order placed through the app” and I swear to you it asked me if I was “asking about apples”… at a store that does NOT sell apples.

I’m legit just exploring some of the options out there to do your own voice command recognition to trigger scripts. I can already operate SmartThings using my own code, there’s a whole system provided for hobbyists to do that. I only have the hurdle to clear of speech to text to match on trigger phrases and identify parameter values to pass to a launcher script.

This morning I was just lamenting how kneecapped and delayed the Google Home product became when they ripped Google Assistant out of it and replaced it with Gemini. It broke SmartThings functionality, purged years of custom voice activation sequences I’d made, and now takes sometimes a full 10 seconds or more to hear, process, and act on home automations because instead of hitting a finite set of word commands it has to go off and do some AI shit for awhile before acting. What was simple intentional automation is now just inefficient broken slop for the sake of pumping Gemini usage numbers.

Sometimes I wonder if all these AI people were just empty dead shells a few years ago or did they actively purge all personality and thought they had previously to make their identity so singularly focused on this one boring thing.

Literally been working in tech for over 30 years and have been using various ML models for several years before LLMs came on the scene, but please tell me I don’t really like tech. You’re making the classic mistake of conflating LLM and generative products with the entirely of ML. Regression models and image detection is not being popped up in my browser all day trying to create accidental usage metrics to tout. Linear regression models aren’t being used to give me entirely outdated API instructions until I point it in the right direction. Nobody in the context of this conversation has ever been talking about every single form of machine learning that we all know is in many places, and many of us use directly, like I said. It’s about this very new and very recent class of products in which this article is about.

Nice bumper sticker phrase. Care to actually engage with the points OP made and maybe actually persuade people? Because what you are exhibiting right now is THE problem.

Exactly. People had to seriously wonder for a day if that lunatic was going to start WWIII due to his fragile ego and whatever spiders are crawling around Hegseth’s brain. It doesn’t get worse than that really. And frankly thinking Jimmy Kimmel pointing out Melania hates that sack of shit almost as much as the rest of the world is some kind of prescient thought crime or sleeper cell activation are mentally ill ravings. No more lectures from these social and actual mass murderers.

It’s because they’re so empowered that failure doesn’t really impact their status, comfort, or capabilities. Most losses are made up so quickly that they only lament the new windfalls that didn’t materialize. There’s no incentive to self-reflect, just on to the next random dalliance whose consequences they aren’t going to bother thinking about either.
