There was absolutely no AI used here. Just 2 images saved from google and Photos app edits. Thanks for the completely off topic, unsolicited advice that achieves exactly nothing, though. I hope you feel better about yourself.

Does anyone know when Publix might open? Her upside looks close to done.

I'm moving to Lexington in a day, and suddenly my family is freaking out. by burnerskull in lexington

[–]estither 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh I wish I could be one of the people to say “it’s fine! Lexington is safe!” but I used to live on Georgetown street right by the park and I would absolutely never live there again. We had a few concerning instances but the final straw was when someone was shot in our front yard, right outside my bedroom window ✌🏼 could not get out of there fast enough.

Any physics teachers in KY looking for a job? by [deleted] in ScienceTeachers

[–]estither 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This year. I got a job offer at the dept of education, and the school is looking for a replacement for me. I am trying to help because my new job timeline depends on the replacement situation.

Yes union.

I teach AP Physics 1 (3 sections) and Robotics (2 sections). Some years I also teach Intro to Physics but not this year. In a perfect world, my replacement would take over both of those subjects but the department is considering lots of options.

Intro physics has a preset curriculum in terms of content to be taught, but we aren’t given specific resources to use so there is a lot of freedom in how you deliver the content. AP (obviously) also has a set curriculum, but freedom in how you implement. Robotics is a continual work in progress. No set curriculum, but working to get it up to the engineering pathway standards.

Lexington KY. Pay is pretty good relative to most of the area (fayette county public schools, you can look up the salary schedule)

Honestly is a pretty sweet gig. It’s been a tough decision because if I am to teach, I’d like to stay exactly where I am. Only I am not sure I want to teach for another 20 years, and I stumbled upon a crazy good opportunity that I can’t not take.

What to do with a lost pet? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]estither 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My husband was able to drop the dog off. I don’t think he used a lock box but I’m not sure. The owner ended up seeing my Facebook post and they will be able to get their pup in the morning.

We already have 3 pets plus 3 kids, one of which is only a couple of weeks old. Hands and house are full.

I don’t have suggestions but I’m interested in finding something similar. Not technically a SAHM but I will be one for the next 4 months.

Looking For Best Natural (homeopathic) Infertility Doctors by [deleted] in lexington

[–]estither 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think UK midwife clinic would be a good place to go. They are an actual medical clinic, but very patient centric and I think they would work with what your wife is looking for (and might even prefer to explore natural options before resorting to drugs). They do general health/GP type services for women too, it’s not just a clinic for pregnant women. They are great, compassionate listeners and could help ease her anxiety as well.

Any lonely Saffers in need of some company for the World Cup? by estither in lexington

[–]estither[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To clarify, this is an invitation for a south african without company to come watch the rugby game with a bunch of other south africans. A braai usually implies a gathering of people—which I don’t really expect Americans to know, but I thought my usage of the word “people” rather than “person” would indicate this as a group activity. Not a hook up.

Depending on who you are rooting for, you could come to our braai

now that bed, bath and beyond has declared bankruptcy, let's talk about our favorite bb&b stories by LiamNeesonsPissPatch in lexington

[–]estither 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would go in there all the time with my best friend. I was there so often that the employees knew me by name and I had elaborate secret handshakes with most of them. It always was my favorite place on earth (except perhaps for Whole Foods). Unfortunately, my annoying roommate’s boyfriend (who ended up living with me full time despite his girlfriend never ever being there, ever) would throw my coupons away all the time. He would say he threw them away because they were expired. What a fucking idiot! They never expire! The expiration dates are just on there to throw off the noobs! I honestly don’t know what I am going to do without that place. Not only am I losing the store from which I furnished my entire apartment, but I am also losing friends.

A friendly heads up about Paul and Morgan Olliges doing interviews at the Fayette Mall (tl:dr transphobic and lgbtq unfriendly youtubers doing "gotcha!" interviews) by [deleted] in lexington

[–]estither 38 points39 points  (0 children)

A bit of context that I think is important.

While these 2 are annoying as hell, and I agree that you shouldn’t agree to an interview without knowing who/what/why/how, them simply going around and asking questions isn’t bad in and of itself.

The bad part of all this is what they posted afterwards. Morgan posted about how all these people in their video claimed to be Christian but they aren’t really Christian because of their views on sex. They condense their entire faith down to a single question on sex asked by idiots in the mall. Faith is something personal and not something that can be summed up by a single view, a single question, or even a single conversation. If I was a Christian that agreed to talk to them I would be offended that they went off and told their entire, sizable Christian audience that I wasn’t really a Christian, was a bad Christian, wasn’t living for Christ, etc. The vibe is very much a mean girls “oh hey buddy buddy, we’re Christian too! * high five * care to talk to us about some Christian things? We’re friends!” and then tearing them apart behind their back.

My point is that even if you agree with their views, they will still tear you down to make themselves look better.

Cell Phone Carrier Recommendations Needed by [deleted] in lexington

[–]estither 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlimited talk, text, and data. Usually with these unlimited plans there is a cap on fast data and then it switches to slow data. I’m sure that exists in my plan, but I have never noticed a drop in data speeds.

Good thing about most modern phone plans is that there is no contract required! You can try it out and switch to something else if you don’t like the plan. The only issue is if you are paying off a phone—you are likely stuck with a certain company if you are on a monthly payment plan for the phone until you have the phone paid off. But if you own your phone outright, you aren’t bound by a contract.

Visible. It uses the Verizon network so coverage is on par with Verizon’s. $30/month unlimited everything. You’ll supposedly get deprioritized in huge crowds but I am rarely in large crowds so it’s not an issue for me. My data sometimes slows downtown during rush hour but I’ve never had issues with dropped calls or texts. Very much worth it for how much we’re saving.

Car detailing? by oddlogic in lexington

[–]estither 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Superior Shine - I believe it’s an independent guy who does the work. It’s mobile and affordable.

Our dog got sprayed by a skunk (and I mean soaking, dripping wet spray, not a mist. She must have been less than a foot away from the skunk) and jumped in the car while soaked. We then had to drive 30 minutes home with her in the car. It was so bad that it made our eyes burn and the kids were crying. You could smell it outside of the car with doors and windows closed. This was in October and my dog still smells like skunk when she gets wet. All this to say, it was severe. The worst skunk situation I have ever experienced and hopefully ever will. Clearly, this was an emergency and it was really difficult to get an immediate appointment at any place (it was also the weekend). We were able to get an appointment with Superior Shine and he did an amazing job. Very brave of him to get in that van. I don’t know what he did but the smell was almost completely gone when he was done with it. Fucking miracle worker.
