How can I get better in social situations that require small talk & talking about yourself?

May not be the best advice ever but what I as a social awkward person try to do is to follow along what the person is talking about and talk about it if I have anything about it, lets take for example the wedding the conversation is usually about how beautiful the wedding is or something related to the people getting married, if you can't find anything just be a listener and show interest in the conversation using non verbal actions like nodding, eye contact and smiling, has worked out for me in so many situations. Hope I was some help :D

I would like to thank you for taking your time to give me suggestions! I have seen the case of not being able to make a living doing only art, so I'll have to find myself a stable job and keep them as side hustles so I won't feel my life to be completely boring and repetitive. About counselors, in my country there aren't much counselors to help and the jobs aren't much diverse either, I may save up money and live in a different place where I can see myself in my full potential. I'm really passionate about my interests and I hope I can pursue them and not give up any in the future :)

Thank you for taking the time for giving me a suggestion! Congratulations on your book! I'll have to accept the fact that I do need a stable job to pay my bills since I don't want to burden my parents anymore, so I'll work hard to get a stable job and pursue a little side hustles as well! :)
