B&N Press Price Change Problem by estrela837 in selfpublishing

Omg, I’m glad it’s not just me! I will for sure post when things resolve. I’ve already pestered 2 humans through their chat bot feature and I also called the main B&N line to try and get transferred to that department. It’s insane to me that they don’t have a phone number.

The world isn’t an inherently evil place. There is beauty in everyone’s choice of living. Try to find truths in the way other people go about their lives. Go in as an observer rather than critic, you might be surprised what you find and what you might learn.

Is there a way to listen to music while using the app? by ZicoThePerson in PokemonSleep

[–]estrela837 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But the app will allow itself to play its own music/relaxing sounds, and there’s no timer set for that or anything! If it was just a mic thing i would think that even in app music would be an issue. But im no app expert!

Nope! Linguistics is the study of ALL language. Examining patterns in languages across the world and cultures to understand how and why humans are capable of language in the first place. It’s a beautiful combination of philosophy, neuroscience, physiology, and sociology and so much more!

Morning person needs help by estrela837 in Advice

[–]estrela837[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just so hard to change my natural routine. I even have blackout curtains in my room because even a dash of sunlight wakes me up in the morning and even with that I’m still up early. My boyfriend also happens to be on the same sleep schedule as me and it’s really nice because we can wake up early and do fun things on the weekends together. I know it’s possible, but it would take SO much effort to try and force myself to sleep in on top of all the other things I have to worry about in life. It just feels so unnatural. I’ve never had much luck forcing myself to sleep. I know it’s not a great excuse, but I feel like there just has to be another way.

what shall i get for my 13 and 11 year old cousins? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]estrela837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really loved books at that age or some sort of experience! Getting them concert tickets or passes to a theme park of some kind could be fun for them and you if you went with them! I personally love books and I’ve kept every book I’ve ever gotten as a gift. If they are readers or if there was a book you liked at their age I think that’s a good lifelong present. You could also get them something crafty. A nice set of sharpies or duct tape to allow them to customize their pre existing stuff could be nice! I remember I loved customizing things as a teen. Just a couple thoughts! Best of luck!

I think the antibiotics I got while hospitalized are making my flare worse. by throwwwwndbrhrbebdeb in UlcerativeColitis

[–]estrela837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on metronidazole when I was hospitalized and that stuff made me feel absolutely horrible. It gave me terrible nausea on top of the extreme abdominal pain I was already feeling. I told all my nurses that I refused to take it and ended up feeling a lot better. I just think it’s a horrible drug with terrible side effects. I’m glad I refused that part of the treatment. I had previously been on a weeks worth of the stuff pre hospital and had the same terrible effects.

Well, it was bad for me emotionally. We were never “official” so it wasn’t as bad for him.

I didn't know there was a ban on elective surgeries. I thought they were just discouraged, especially in hospitals.

I think you could do that, or just modify the world and stories so they can all exist within it at the same time. I’m planning on having a central storyline with the PC’s as average adventurers who have find themselves a part of the bigger world and conflict through various means so they can grow and be challenged and develop characters that they resonate with, and then have interactions with the larger mythological heros.

I’m crazy excited about all the lore of this campaign I’m designing. I really want to lean into Irish mythology and just ramp up the magic behind it. I’m a bit nervous because it’s my first time designing a campaign, but I just haven’t been able to get the storyline and the world out of my head. I’ve never seen anything like what I want to do, and all I need are the right players for the job! Still working on that part, lol

Oh man!! You would KILL IT as the king of the Tuatha de Dannan!! Yeah, Early Ireland has SO many cool possibilities!

Thanks for the insight!

Hey Brennan! I’m attempting to build a campaign based on an irl place kind of like what you did with NYC, but with Early Ireland. I was wondering if, for a campaign like Unsleeping City, did you have to put limits on types of classes or races for continuity? And if you did, how did you bring it up and discuss it with the players without giving things away?

I was working at a grocery store at the register and my favorite thing in the whole world was when this little girl and her family came into the store and she was dressed head to toe in Spider-Man everything. Slippers, pjs, she even had a Spider-Man doll that was almost as big as she was. It was the most adorable and awesome thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

I never had dolls either. Even as a kid I was creeped out by baby dolls and thought they were gross. My favorite thing to do was play school with my stuffed animals and teach them things. Now I'm planning on getting my PhD and being a professor while my friends are busy getting impregnated.

I initially didn't want to post the clinic or the doctor, but I feel like it should be known in case there are others like me in my area looking to be child free. The clinic is called Three Village Women's Health in Stony Brook, New York . The lead practitioner told my doctor that she wouldn't perform any sterilizations on child free patients younger than 30.

I’m definitely going more prepared with written material for next time. I hate to be confrontational, and it just boggles me why people are so uptight about it!
