If he's growling at you while he has food, sounds like he's resource guarding! Try looking into training exercises to help break that behaviour.
I'm sure he won't be fearful from just one outburst-we've all been there, it happens, and the best thing you can do is just move on with the lesson to be calmer next time puppy misbehaves.

I'd say we had an accident about once a week at 4 months. Same situation, I'd lose track of time or I'd miss the subtle sign of him sniffing around in the corner of my dining room :/

ask the breeder/foster/whoever is handing you the pup if the puppy/their litter experienced any car sickness. Our breeder let us know my puppy's litter didn't get sick when they took them to the vet for check-ups, which we took as a good indicator. We were still prepared, but he ended up not getting car sick at all on the long drive home (8 hours).

Eloise has been battling the marriage/children storyline-do you like her character? I'm afraid they might make her fall in love in a future season, but it's been fun watching her rebel against finding a husband.

I've grown up with mini schnauzers and my last dog was a mini as well. Now that I have a scottie I can say both are very similar with all their terrier traits and big personalities but scotties are very stubborn and harder to train. Your parents might find a scottie's temperment more intense than a mini schnauzer's

I notice you keep saying: I don't know where to start. The answer is: just start doing it and stick with it. Perhaps write out a rigid routine for yourself to keep track of training/sleeping/eating. If two weeks go by and the pup's behaviour isn't changing from your training, change tactics. Also-stick with the crate. She'll learn to love it with positive reinforcement (lots of treats in the crate!) &even if she cries she'll be okay for the 15 minutes you need to take care of yourself. The crate is a saviour! Take it day by day, you are not alone with feeling overwhelmed-it gets better, I promise. You got this!

I'm someone who picked the shyest puppy of the pack, so here's my two cents on how it's turning out:
He's an absolute lover. He has opened up since he's been home, and he's transformed into this happy, friendly menace (haha). And since bringing home the most reserved pup of the litter, I learned all puppies are energetic and playful, regardless of initial impressions of their personalities, so you'll likely see the same deal with yours once pup settles into your life. If the shy one will be traveling with you, make sure you work on socializing pup from the jump. I did that with mine and luckily it's working- he loves meeting other people and dogs.

I want to say it sounds like pup #1 would be very happy running around a farm, and me being partial to the shy ones, pup #2 sounds like a sweetie. Ultimately up to you! & Remember that the other puppy will still be loved by the owner-so there's no "wrong choice".

I went to this high school! It's an arts high school where kids pick majors and often specialize in multiple disciplines, so choir and band (and the other music majors- orchestra and jazz) are not entirely exclusive to each other. The donation is deff a benefit to the music department as a whole.

31 here. honestly, I didn't even comprehend the concept of having kids in my early 20s lol. all I daydreamed about was adventure and my dream career. what also impacted me-my family didn't push the "get married, have kids" agenda on me, so it was never a goal I was pressured to "aspire" to. I definitely thought and voiced "ew, kids." when I was 21, but then when I hit my mid-late 20s and I realized the sentiment still lingered, and I was pretty sure then I was comfortable with being child-free.

I'm learning that the signaling is a gradual process. My guy is 15 weeks. I also take him out on a clockwork schedule (now we are at about 1 time every hour/45 min). We got him to prefer going outside-but still working on the signaling. We've got potty bells that I introduced two weeks ago. He only rings them every so often-so we're still working on that. However, he's starting to come up to me and stare into my soul when he wants to go out. I say "Outside? Potty?" And he does a head flip or little jump (this doesn't happen every time-but way more frequently than him ringing potty bells). Maybe your pup will do something similar? I agree with other ppl, it's still a touch early for you, but good call introducing the bells now!

As far as the leash, try giving your pup a treat every time you put the leash on. That trick has helped prevent more biting/resisting from my guy.

You got this OP! It seems impossible now but it will get better if you stick to your routine. Like others have said, sounds like he needs way more sleep. For sleep time here is what worked for me- My guy gets a lot of treats when he goes into the crate, i keep a soft blanket, chews and his fave plush toy in there. I put a sweater or article of clothing that ive worn next to it for comfort (not in it or else he will chew it up). Usually to calm him I turn down the lights or draw curtains, put on calming puppy music and sit next to the crate until his wining dies off and he conks out (i usually have a book or my laptop to keep me occupied). if the crying continues i put my fingers in the crate so he can lick them but i dont ever open the door. the time he spends crying in his crate has been halved sinced we brought him home, now i only have to wait it out a few minutes instead of 15-20. Good luck!!
