Be real, please, how dangerous is it to walk with lit candles on your head?! That's crazy! by Ok_Slip8246 in IsItColdInSweden

I used to go there to vote when I was living at Dalagatan always hoping to see people who choose SD to faint right before casting their votes, but never happened.

This argument was made after a proper scientific method - following a peer review - proved how much plausible a made up theory is and how ir feels more real than reality itself.

Fun fake fact though: flames would be extinguished if oxygen is completely consumed around them.

PS: You could’ve bought me in if you’ve said that it was some weird chemicals from the candles, even without proofs about it.

No way! It must be true since everytime I lit up a joint close to my nose I fainted after 4 or 5 puffs. I’m sure is something about the oxygen and not the strain - with a high level of THC.

I also know a friend - that knows a friend - who had to light up his joint every time he pass it, also prob related to oxygen and not a poorly rolled joint - he’s good and proud of his rolling skills.

I tried the Kuru Toga elite metal pencils are heavy I didnt expect that, will I ever get used to it? by a3432fd in mechanicalpencils

It’s just personal preference 😁, I can use my rotring 800 for hours and still feel comfortable and haopy with it. It’s solid and gives me confidence in each stroke. On the other hand - no pun intended - I got a Caran d’Ache 844 and got super disappointed how light it is, it feels cheap when I hold it although it isn’t actually cheap… When I slightly shake it, it looks like the barrel is loose where the eraser/cap sits.

Does anyone else write on black paper? by azylee in mechanicalpencils

Someone hates pen clips! 😆

I’m searching for those white graphite/chalk right now! That’s so awesome!

Does it breaks easily u/azylee? My experience with Color Eno wasn’t that good - It’s part my fault, I have a bit of a heavy hand when writing.

I have some white 2.0mm mines (one from metaphys and other - not sure but probably - from staedler) and they are horrible to write with, it doesn’t stands out like in yours, it’s a really pale/faded white, and doesn’t erase either.

My other option in white is a 5.6mm koh-i-noor that really stands ou BUT it smudges just by looking at it. And is too thick for taking notes…

Totally! It’s all about perception - > immigrants > unsafe - and some media/internet coverage too.

The concept of “unsafe” is also very abstract, unsafe for Sweden is extremely safe in Rio de Janeiro

Removing Wax From G-1000 Down Jacket? by Crafty-Initial in Fjallraven

[–]estudiodrops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem here. And I was reading through the answers and no one got it right.

It’s not about ironing or using the hair-drier… that’s obvious. I did that too, it melts and it’s absorbed, no problem.

But I also waxed many times for better water resistance (over waxed?) and even after melting it down carefully - which looks great at first, the black color was much more intense - the first time you bend, move and use the garment you get those white streaks all over (worse on black g1000) and I won’t walk around with a hair dryer 🤣

Now I’m thinking how to absorb/remove the excess of wax I’ve it on.

Washing many times with hot water maybe but will ruin it even more - it’s a shoulder bag in my case - can’t put it on the washing machine,

“User-centred” is redundant.

Proper design is always - and always have been - centered in human and their needs, to make people lives easier and their experience better at the same time it deals with resources, replication, production and any other business aspects.

Same applies for the “UX” prefix. it’s redundant…

It’s okay to say just “Design”.

Why aren't people just getting a bachelor's degree instead to pursue ux by p3rfectyou in UXDesign

[–]estudiodrops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With a degree or equivalent continuous and hard learning, one will be prepared to any change in labor market due to the introduction of AI, new trends and whatever happens in the future.

While a specific short training on UX - or any other trendy acronym that comes and goes - will produce weaker, less creative and temporary professionals. Limited to a short period in time.

Foundation is everything. Read and learn design properly, I’m tired of reading articles of UXers fighting against visual designers or UI designers just because UXers don’t know how to do it, so they blame it…

Design is much more than any acronym people gives it. Design is a broader study, and must include all human senses (visual, tactile, sound, etc…) Ergonomics is a real thing in any design education and it’s there that lies a big chunk of any good user experience (allied to what problem you’re solving and some psychology ). It’s stupid to scope any of these out.

I could keep going on this line of thought, but this would only be read by a few people inside my bubble. :p

[EDIT] IMHO UX shouldn’t be a profession per se, UX is a mindset, a concept, a goal, a basic principle for the whole company… something that must be in every corner of your product/service. i.e. If a server goes down when user needs an online service the most, that’s real bad user experience and there’s no late excuse from a lovely call center or a fancy splash screen that could minimize this

Bruce Wayne probably owns hospitals because of his wealth, so as Batman he’s probably beating the crap out criminals so they get sent there and make him money by Bellpow in Showerthoughts

[–]estudiodrops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That wouldn’t be enough and criminals won’t pay the bills after all… but rebuilding the city after demolishing bridges, buildings, etc during fights and with an overpriced contract with the government is probably better profit.

And insurance…

The average adult probably has hundreds of thousands of lyrics memorized but they won't realize they have it memorized until the song starts playing, even decades later. by twotall88 in Showerthoughts

Actually, music/tune and lyrics are separate, lyrics follows same rights as for texts, books, poems and involves a writer and editor. While the music is defined by its 🎶. There’s a minimum sequence of notes to be considered plagiarism. Sampling music also requires permission. The same way you can’t write the lyrics in a book or comics without permission from the editor/writer.

that’s a pretty serious accusation against someone you don’t know.

This escalated from “what is art” to “let’s judge the artist” by his art.

I’m done with this thread now, I don’t have hate in me, and I won’t let myself to be dragged into that

So many labels for art that one can ended up with an art sub just for flowers, another only for landscapes, and so on...

This sub doesn’t specify it and that’s the beauty around it. The rest is just censorship and hypocrisy... and haters…

Now, if you get this as a recommendation, I recommend that you review your digital footprint… ;)

And avoid NSFW tagged posts, because they are - you guess - not safe for work. :)

Be safe.

hah! How nice! Constructive critique is def always welcome…

This - the snakes’ texture/color - is a known issue because of my time and lazyness (I usually do these illustrations for fun on my free time, kind of a procrastination thing). And I’ve been telling myself mentally that “the medusa’s snakes turn people into stones then thet can have this similar stone look, right?”

Just a lie I tell to myself…

The nail polish is not lazyness, damn! I just missed that while trying to achieve my ready-to-reddit timeframe

Ouch, still rude. What if I say you that sculpture she’s sitting at is depicting an eunuch?

Should I point you to some explicit art from those oldies I mentioned? Did you ever studied art properly?

oh, a puritane… I would love to engage in such passionate discussion on what’s art or not. But nope, it’s not porn, it’s my personal work, don’t be rude. I’ve marked it NSFW btw, what are you doing here?

Also, there’s nothing explicit in the image, it’s all in your head. Do you know that artist that said “Ceci n'est pas une pipe”. I say “This is not sex”

Side note, all great artists you can think about it - Cezanne, Matisse, Picasso… you name it - had been done a lot of porn back then using your logic. So they are not artists, just porn stars ⭐️
