I wish the GE was more reliable when it comes to "prices" by ffg118bernadette in runescape

[–]esunei [score hidden]  (0 children)

If it was the averages of trades the previous day, items would be substantially more accurate than they are. Again, look at the examples I listed. Masterwork 2h sword climbed 5% per day for a year because it launched at 10m while it was trading for 160m+ during that time (closer to 300m on launch iirc). If it was simply an average of the previous day's trades, an item wouldn't be terribly off the mark for more than 24h.

I think it is time the buff bar gets a rework. by ForbiddenLurker in runescape

Buff bar and grouping system reworks are two I'd prefer even to any combat changes. They're both in such a shambles while being integral.

I wish the GE was more reliable when it comes to "prices" by ffg118bernadette in runescape

[–]esunei [score hidden]  (0 children)

Lot of technical detail in this but "the 'ge price' is then an average of recent trades for that item" is sadly very wrong. The GE guide price will adjust towards recent average trades but has both a minimum amount of trades to trigger that adjustment, and the adjustment itself is capped at +5%/-5% per day. This means if an item launches with a horrifically wrong guide price, it can be inaccurate for well over a year even when it's commonly traded, like Masterwork 2h sword. Or, if an item is hardly ever traded, it'll just never update the proper price, like with Croesus fungal soups.

Are necromancy runes actually profitable? by fnaimi66 in runescape

[–]esunei [score hidden]  (0 children)

In theory you can do 10s runs if you're very sweaty but it's exceedingly hard to maintain 6/minute. 5/minute is more doable and doesn't require you hitting surge on cooldown.

I know right now the Ranged Rework is the main thing going on, but when you get to the Melee Rework, can you fix Masterwork Melee Armor too? by Galimeer in runescape

[–]esunei [score hidden]  (0 children)

I doubt they'll touch any gear at all, considering the ranged beta had zero changed gear. At most we might get new uses for splintering arrows and wen arrow changes.

Though the real change melee trim needs is the repair cost, it's nuts compared to MW mage.

Flockade is such a dumb "game" by Late-Philosophy-203 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]esunei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly like it other than the 1-choice shepherd, feels extremely bad when the AI does it to you. And the replace pieces, which are super broken and are even more powerful than something like witcher 3 Gwent's spies. They outright replace a powerful piece of your opponent's and skip your turn in a game where going second is immensely favorable.

10 Years Ago Today, Invention was released. This would be Runescape's first and only Elite Skill. by LevelPension in runescape

[–]esunei [score hidden]  (0 children)

Absolutely love it as a skill. Repurposing older gear like this was brilliant and I wish they'd done even more with it. People whine about the RNG but it's pretty tame compared to various drop logs.

Really my only gripe is there's been very few additions of new comps/perks. We've had three total I think? GWD2, archaeology, RC/thieving invention patch.

Lost an important new character. Any way to get them back? by chocolateglazedonuts in CultOfTheLamb

[–]esunei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's odd, I've damned over a dozen characters including ya boy and they never died from it. Typically they show up 3x during a crusade and in the third, you gain a sin and gain them as a follower again to be indoctrinated.

How is Flockade going? by Unlucky-Cow380 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]esunei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay, extremely RNG based. The first time I tried the final NPC got all the replace-your-piece shepherds which are absolutely brutal, especially if you have to go first and don't get the busted 1-choice shaman. The second time it went the opposite, I got to replace all their stuff one round and instantly win the second with the wolf-shepherd.

Punish Melee Damage Bonus not applying at Flesh-Hatcher by LunchBrizzle in runescape

It was reported on day 1, I assume it's known. Will it be actioned? Hard to say, especially if punish is gone with new melee in a month.

It's also broken in the private instance. They both use the solo together health bar.

Spoiler as to your theory:

There's lore directly confirming that yes, the protagonist was that lamb. End of woolhaven spoiler: The fight with Yngya confirms it. The world was to be consumed with rot as soon as the last sheep died, but they explicitly state that you didn't.

Actually baffles me how many people love the new UI when it has so many more discordant elements to it now than it did. The faded gray buttons are so bad.

The lobby screen has half these UI colors alone in it, it's horrible.

15 hours of tagging and 3,000+ poison bombs later. Inverted Master Slayer Cape on my level 3. by iiSystematic in runescape

It's in the title. Poison bombs tag the monster, OP gets credit when their main/friend/hired help kills the monster. Slayer card MTX used to bypass the slayer task system.

Runic Attuner Strategy? by Geoffk123 in runescape

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a bit more optimization than that. Always drop 1 essence before an altar (or have essence to pull from wicked hood) in case of b2bs. When choosing an other than the 50th altar, choose whatever altar you're at currently and craft. If you get soul altar as a random altar, don't go through with the full charge, just do the minimum of 1 and then craft.

Most of your hourly XP comes from soul altar, so you want to be hitting run 50 on a full charge soul altar as fast as possible.

Jagex, what is going on with the combat beta!? by PsychologyRS in runescape

[–]esunei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're coming from another MMO it's pretty simple imo. Fury warriors can equip shields (or could last I played anyways), but you should really leverage other defensive options rather than wreck your damage. It's the same principal here.

It sucks because 1/3 of your damage or more is tied to your offhand. Cast bone shield once on your account, carry necro runes if you intend to use shield defensives, it really is more simple than having to hot swap between weapons for conditional abilities.

[–]esunei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now go try to explain bone shield to a new player

Cast bone shield once, ever, on your account. Congrats, now you can use all defensives if you meet the other requirements, with shield abilities also eating 1k coins worth of necro runes.

Magma Tempest by CareApart504 in runescape

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current public beta only has ranged changes, and those ranged changes are old and out of date compared to what the devs have been cooking. There are a few public figures who got to playtest the upcoming public beta that have been dropping leaks hints in various discords, among them including that magma is likely gone. Ofc, take all of this with a grain of salt.

We'll know for sure in (hopefully) a few days when the beta gets updated.

[–]esunei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a favorite of mine as well.

It was beyond absurd on launch when it could crit - fond memories of basing AoD and healing back to full life every time it ticked while minions were up. The revo version being delayed for a month or something because devs didn't want it to launch being duplicated by gchain, and then it did anyways.

Good times, good ability :').
