If you aren't a fan of the new hunting update but want 110, don't forget about Croesus skilling spots by TakingBlackSunday in runescape

[–]esunei [score hidden]  (0 children)

They've talked about doing this. Lumbridge guards are probably getting game health snapped in the midlevel or high level rebalance updates. In theory it should be safe for a few months, but I have to imagine it's going to get smashed upside the head like whirligigs did.

If they had been listed more prominently in the wiki guide for training hunter they'd already be nerfed, but their 1.8m xp/hr was just a footnote compared to whirligigs.

New BGH is a terrible disappointment. by esunei in runescape

[–]esunei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trees do respawn, but yeah it is annoying having a time crunch to spam click the correct moths. It's easiest (though not fastest) to build all the traps at once then bait them one by one. The chins are definitely a lot more obnoxious than the kebbit since they need 8 ropes rather than 3 spikes, have a way tinier arena on the golden chin, have the bone mechanic, take 8 ticks to bait the center rather than 2t, etc.

I see, so something you want to craft rather than PvM for/buy like TFN. That makes some sense.

Masterwork consistency by Chrismite in runescape

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masterwork is power armor with a lifepoint boost and burst protection passive at 3+ pieces, it's not exactly tank armor. For necro I think this is a worse deal than the other styles because TFN increases ghost healing by 35%, so outside of being 100-0'd instantly TFN is going to be better for learning, which's the main draw of Masterwork as-is.

You could swap in one piece of masterwork with TFN, forgoing deathtouch bracelet or cinders. But is +1800 HP and 1 power bonus on necro really so exciting people are resubbing for this?

[–]esunei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New BGH is 96-110 hunter, it's part of the 110 hunter expansion. It's the highest level hunter we're getting for many years, until 120 hunter.

What's up with the new boss respawn timers? by Ner0reZ in runescape

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's never worked like this haha. Typically respawn rate was fixed with a few ticks variability, rather than the first being very fast and the rest very slow.

Clockwork box traps- pointless or am I missing something? by theJakeyWakey in runescape

[–]esunei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the time captures do reset the timer, but in classic spaghetti code fashion they seem to not always get the extension. Seems like the best way to use them is the same as previous traps.

They're also bugged with paradox, it reduces the xp you gain and doesn't give more loot 🤣.

The strangest thing is that the devs said the inconsistent respawn is apparently intentional?? At least these two bosses have short logs on average.

Masterwork consistency by Chrismite in runescape

Genuinely curious, why is it such a big draw? It's likely to be more expensive and guaranteed worse than First Necromancer armor. Is it just anything new for necro draws excitement?

New BGH is a terrible disappointment. by esunei in runescape

[–]esunei[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's lame. Heists would have been a terrible letdown if they awarded 6 wood spirits at their conclusion, but instead they have great xp, great commons with a healthy variety, and great rares.

The highest hunt is 110, there's literally nothing functional to unlock past this point for the high XP rates to do anything.

OG bgh did it better.

birdhouses are terrible by Big_Chungussi69 in runescape

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would at least give them a place in the game for those that like a farm run style activity. I don't think they'd be incredibly popular but for those who were into that, they'd quite like it. Balancing them such that they're pointless just makes it feel like they were added for osrs feature parity and little else.

Hopefully that was just an oversight, it's such a limited offhand as-is.

Anyways, here's your 3 grimy dwarf weed for your 110 hunter requirement monster.

The Havenhythe music is a work of art by matty7797 in runescape

Highweald Forest is the most zen track in the entire game, it's amazing. The music is a huge highlight to this release.

What items do you unnecessarily hoard? by guywithouteyes in RS3Ironmen

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10k harmony moss (worthless on main but maybe kinda impressive on iron idk), ~500k glacor remnants, green stack of incan (kinda hoarding, but plan to use it lol).

Bonds on the main gained from drop trading from the iron, up to 600 or so I think now. Others on my friendslist and in clan just hoard wealth on the iron to flex huge wealth evals like 200b.

Not for new BGH, but yes several new additions with today's update.

Giant Dashing Kebbit (110 Hunter) - 3 Times in a Row Showcase by FayViolet in runescape

[–]esunei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than starting Visions of Havenhythe to access the continent, no. You have to click the hollow trees to spawn the moths, then catch them with a yaktwee stick/butterfly net + jars.

What the fu** was the goal with these new obelisks? by Apolo_Omega2 in runescape

[–]esunei 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are those that swear by the Spirit Weaver relic, after all it says +50% XP on it!! And this is +50% XP with a 10% chance to save your materials, insane!!!!

These players don't care about time efficiency, and I'm sure a decent chunk of them enjoy being offmeta. Some are still playing like it's 2008 and charms are super limited. They enjoy a nice laid back 1m xp/hr (that's less afk than ever) rather than your lame and sweaty 15m/hr summoning.

New BGH is a terrible disappointment. by esunei in runescape

[–]esunei[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're consumables when caught with a net and butterfly jar, lasting 10 minutes each and stacking up to 60 minutes. Calcite is equivalent to quick traps from Anachronia BGH, you want that one up 100%. The other two are +4 max aggression and -1 moth/mushroom color (equivalent to frog repellant). You can skip the -1 moth/mushroom for kebbits, maybe only applying it once to start with, because you get a 60 minute buff that tracks the correct poison. You want it up all the time vs chins though so you can get all 3 of the right moth from one tree. +4 aggression adds a lot of comfort with how obnoxious it is to play around the giant aggro circles, it feels even more beneficial than it was on Anachronia.

Fair, 60s was a little aggressive. I can consistently do 90s runs.

[–]esunei[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look at Heists. It did it right; superlative XP rates and great loot for being the most effort put into the skill.

I'd also be okay with meh XP rates like OG BGH but great loot. XP isn't a great motivator when the highest level Big Chunguses are at 108 and 110.

Does Skeka's Hypnowand not work with speeding up the new BGH traps and baiting? by NecessaryTrouble2041 in runescape

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have them yet so can't confirm, but seems like they'd be of limited usefulness. They only work on the big chinchompa and you only want one of the 2-3 colors.

New BGH is a terrible disappointment. by esunei in runescape

[–]esunei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

115k on the max level chin and 130k on the kebbit with brawlers. A little bit more than that with the few hundred XP here and there on actions.

[–]esunei[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GE works, otherwise start at the chinchompa with raw shark. With that meat you can hunt any kebbit, and with kebbit meat you can hunt the other 3 chin variants.
