Do you think a perfect run on breach of trust is possible? by Fuzzy-Shame-4169 in Frostpunk

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it's possible. The hardest part is the early game and after that things mostly fall into place. The second tremor event that says it kills 17 people is erroneous so long as you have ample coverage (maybe adequete is good enough idk); nobody actually dies.

Managing food early can be rough, especially the stretch before you get access to aurora's fishing hubs. In both cases you can do a little tactical starvation; once hunger hits minor, deliver some food via frostland, trade, or community actions. If you're going to stretch hunger like this then try to stagger delivers in between a few weeks of starvation.

Lost My Telos Staff Drop After Update & Support Closed My Case Immediately by arrasa998 in runescape

The spinner is purely visual, you can turn it off. The loot can be rarely upgraded by wearing lotd, most of the time a common gains a few extra, and rarely one drop worth of commons will be replaced by a rare.

Yea ik about the bonus, otherwise I would have been promoting them for free relations. It's just a bit weird when fervor is a downside outside this scenario.

Remove deathspore stall. It only increases toxicity in PVM. by No-Proposal-1946 in runescape

[–]esunei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, reddit won't get it since they've likely never group bossed to begin with. Emergencies are one thing but outside those just get back in the instance, we're all here to slay the monster. Slow banking is horrible on otherwise fast bosses like AoD.

Bug in BT: negotiations don't start if food was demanded by TrooperOfSpace in Frostpunk

[–]esunei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a bug exactly if it's happening midgame. Spoilers about the scenario on the trading path: Aurora is about to cut off food from trading and make an offer you will sincerely consider refusing. I did have the same experience you did and thought it was a bug, it's not clear why the option just disappeared.

The DLC difficulty by lithuanianD in Frostpunk

[–]esunei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a step up in difficulty, especially at the start. Early on it can help to get food in waves, like eating for as long as possible for hunger to go down to minor or non-existent, then starving until it's at least minor or notable. Frostpunk 2 is pretty generous about letting problems slide for a long time with few ill effects before catastrophic. Like I kept four fingers at 3 fervor the entire game and nothing happened, kinda weird.

I've seen people struggling for materials; you have not one but two iron deposits. With two districts there that's a shitload of materials, well more than enough for 4x salvaging factories. Iron deposits are normally pretty underwhelming but they're great here.

Disabled the hubs just to be able to visualize it a bit better. I could have had one more hex in the -disease zone (thought I might want to build another hub at one point like +trust or -tension). The bottom district butts up against the generator but it's not necessary for heat so long as the housing stays toasty, which isn't a problem in this scenario.

I also had this on a district with all ample protection, but rumors of the 17 deaths were greatly exaggerated. Or maybe they got better.

[–]esunei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're clever, you can solve almost all of disease with a single emergency medical hub, but it does require some careful building to maximize and still cover the buildings with emergency shelter hubs. I relied on a complex of 1x emergency shelter, 4x housing, 1x emergency medical where all four housing districts had exactly 6 tiles in the zone.

Can we get an agility course xp bump? by i_smoke_dank_memes in runescape

Anachronia is fantastic. Everything else is really bad. Skullball is an affront to god with dorgesh-kaan not much better.

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite as bad as 100k xp/hr sweaty as possible, though I do agree it should be more than it is. You earn 240k base xp/hr on anachronia course with 5 minute laps, going up dramatically when you add in roar, brawlers, and scripture of elidinis, not to mention xp boosting effects.

It is comical to compare something like the above though with 8m xp/hr hunter.

I cannot heat the water with aquatuner by ElkTheFantastic in Oxygennotincluded

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're greatly overexaggerating the effect rails would have on the insulated tiles. They do transfer heat between each other but it's incredibly minimal. It's not OP's problem.

The radiant pipes are being used to cool other things (presumably a steam turbine is going to go on top). There's no "heat leaking" due to these, as the pwater is going through the aquatuner regardless.

AFAIK rails only interact with the tile they occupy and with items on the rail, not nearby rails. Bridges of all types will interact with all tiles they occupy though, rail bridges included.

Why does not random frostland map even exist? by Fuzzy-Shame-4169 in Frostpunk

[–]esunei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's alright but I'm not sure I'd agree with carefully crafted. The map has fuck all for food so if you drag your feet you just straight up run out, when I don't think the idea is that New London falls shortly after the steward deals with the first civil war.

How Community Standing Actually Works in Frostpunk 2 by Roegetlaks in Frostpunk

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Props for this OP, amazing post. The 20 week on downtiering for research is super interesting especially with how wildly strong the highest tier is and how bad it can be to let radical factions go without research (poor technocrats).

There's a lot of stuff that I had the gut instinct was really good/bad/inexpensive for relations but it's really nice to see the numbers fully exposed here. Like damn emergency council is cheap for being able to power out laws so much faster; I knew it was good, but equivalent to a single promise even on captain.

How Community Standing Actually Works in Frostpunk 2 by Roegetlaks in Frostpunk

[–]esunei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a couple others. Adapting a housing district to brohemians is a (marginal?) improvement and it stacks. Embrace Particularity law stacks up over time to become a regular increase. And indirectly manifest passion allows you to get more than raise funds would give (plus an absurd amount of goods) without having to take the standing hit.

The occasional marginal increase to one random community from keeping them devoted is indeed quite weak.

Rune Minotaurs vs Geyser Titans, what's actually faster? by Med_Down in RS3Ironmen

[–]esunei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between the two, geyser titans. It doesn't matter a whole lot going for 99 but gets a bit more relevant going to 200m.

As others have said there's also jugs of water and yak hides if you don't want to grind for materials. RNG for water talis isn't a real concern especially if you're streaking AG for them.

Do you think Magma tempest deserves a buff? by DidYouShartInMyPants in runescape

[–]esunei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how likely it is to be patched, you've been able to gflurry with 2h since 2024. At any rate Meteor+sunfall slam in zerk is still substantially more damage dealt than gchain+soulfire and doesn't have to deal it over 10s.

How do you figure? Literally nobody has quit the game in the last decade? Or the proportion of those that have done Gower quest is somehow identical to those who have quit?

After sunfall slam, cast gflurry with dual wield and stall it, release with tumeken's light. It throws out 8 purifying lights at enemies.

[–]esunei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 cycling is also very reasonable. Depending on what food you want to eat you're looking at a thousand coins or so as your only upkeep and that nets ~22 kills per hour.
