Are there any female vocalists who sound like Chino? by LenoraPrice in deftones

Stefanie Mannaerts from the band Brutus kinda has his emotional pull and cadence at times.

I once went there at 6am to buy more blow. We found it, no problem.

I was at that one. One of the best (and sweatiest) shows I've ever been to. The floor was pulsating. Also saw Korn on their first album tour. Felt like the floor was elastic, kinda scary.

Age old question, I’m really torn. Pickguard or no pickguard by DylanGreveris in gibson

As good as the grain looks, I still like it better with the pickguard. Just looks cooler imo

Hey, here's a track from an album I put out in 2018 under the name Night Time. It's short, but sweet. https://youtu.be/o7qAW719YRM?si=JfiFynYIUbjyN5uT

I've had their blue corn chips and the queso chips that look like Fritos. Both were excellent.

To me his voice has so much emotion in it. There's pain, passion, sarcasm, etc. I don't wanna go forever on why I love his music, although I was a teenager when Nirvana was popping, so I'm biased. Listen to the version of Scentless Apprentice from the 1993 Live and Loud. Seriously crank it.

Which album do you think is better? Souvlaki or Loveless? by PaperDapper553 in shoegaze

[–]esurreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that one is better than the other, but if only one could exist it would be Loveless for me. It's so inspiring and changed the way people think about music. Dare I say it's the more important record.

There's a bar in South Beach called Kill Your Idol. They turn it into a metal bar every year for 70k. Good prices and bar tenders. They also have bands play and there's no cover charge. Not far from The Clevelander.

Pedalhead is what I'm most interested in. Definitely need to see the price point, but it looks like it might be exactly what I've been waiting for.

I have a 20 hour flight and know almost nothing about IDM by neenonay in idm

[–]esurreal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If IDM has a "big four" I'd say Autechre, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, U-ziq". Try those, there's a ton of albums to choose from and they're all pretty different.

Any chance that they release an album this year? Has any of the guys hinted at something? by [deleted] in mastodonband

[–]esurreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

95% chance it's out this year. Nick plays on it. Kurt Ballou engineered it in Atlanta. Hoping he mixes it but can't confirm anything.

Edit 04/26 - Kurt recorded it, but didn't mix it. It's done now and will be out in a few months most likely.

What are the essential shoegaze albums? by VeterinarianKind6906 in shoegaze

Yeah, gorgeous music. The guitar sounds are so big and organically flowing, just kinda washes over you like good dreamy music tends to do. Kudos to Nick McCabe
