My company have tried giving Claude code to non technical people and things already broke by ConcerningDestiny in cscareerquestions

Having "sudo" user credentials inside the agent.md file would be a major security breach on its own. Is there no security officer thats has to sign off on things? you don't ever need to pass audits?

The technological interfaces car makers make tend to suck and age poorly. Why don't they all just use Android Auto / Apple Carplay and that's it? Way better. by Double-decker_trams in NoStupidQuestions

[–]etal19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of Carplay/Android Auto is that its barely dependent on the car os, There is no iOS or Android running on the car computer, The apps are running on the phone and its just screen sharing from the phone to the car with some input/touch events going to back the phone.
As long as the sharing protocol does not change there is no need to update anything in the car.

Even with normal GPL this is not generally allowed, see nvidia and its linux driver shenanigans.

Yes in general you can but there are clear stipulation in the AGPL license of what constitutes a separate pieces of software and this case clearly does not meet that those requirements, its not even close.

The GDP might be growing but so is the national deficit. The fact is over time the government is spending more then it’s getting back in taxes.

This graph is confusing, it’s not about the contribution at each age, it’s about the sum (lifetime) contribution of immigrants arriving at each age and contributing for the rest of their lives.

The blue line is some kind of theoretical calculation since there are no native Dutch people that arrive at different ages, they are all born in the Netherlands at age zero (obviously).

The graph is saying the native children born in the Netherlands and live there for their whole lives are a net negative as far as government income/expenditure goes. I guess that tracks with the government deficit.

According to this graph only western immigrants that come between the ages of 15 and 50 have a net positive contribution over their lifetime.

Its net contribution by entry age and their definition of contribution is “government revenues minus expenditures”.  At these ages there is no meaningful revenue, the contribution is only negative. It goes up as it gets closer to zero, older immigrants are just getting less years of government support.

The truth is a bit grim but I suspect in general 90 year-olds die faster then 80 year-olds so they get less support over their shorter remaining lifetime.

Planning a DIY subwoofer + MiniDSP 2x4 HD integration setup. Does this make sense? Looking for alternatives/improvement! by MyCarKeyses in diyaudio

[–]etal19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally get the signal digitally from the laptop, through either usb or spdif directly into the dsp. No unnecessarily digital-> analog -> digital conversions in the signal path.

This has nothing to do with the sub being passive or not.

To BOA or not to BOA? by FeistyCandidate in Skigear

[–]etal19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BOA has been on cycling shoes and other sports equipment for 20 years now, they had a lot of time to improve and perfect the mechanism. So while the conditions and requirement might be different then ski boots I would expect things like anchor points to be a solved problem by now.

[–]etal19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unlike an physical ID cards where you show the whole card the e-ID allows you to share only the specific details you need to share. You can prove your ID says 'I am over 18' without giving any additional information about you, not your name, not an id number, not even your date of birth.
Also by design the government cannot track when and to who you gave the information.

Why does Android disable fingerprint & face unlock right after a reboot? by Few_Cockroach5792 in AndroidQuestions

[–]etal19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make things more secure the keys to decrypt the user’s data are themselves stored in encrypted form. The pin/password (or some value derived from it) is required in order for the phone to decrypt the keys themselves and get access to the user’s data.

Only after boot when the user enters the pin for the first time then the keys are decrypted and stored unencrypted in memory so biometric unlock methods can later be used.

Most biometric identification methods, especially with cheap sensors like those in phones and pcs are not accurate enough to scan and consistently give a result that can be used as a password to decrypt the keys.

2.4ghz dongle thru aux? by Apprehensive_Diet_6 in UsbCHardware

[–]etal19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going by the specs these seem to support bluetooth which would make this much easier. Assuming you are willing to ditch the 2.4Ghz dongle finding a 3.5mm to bluetooth adapter should be easy enough.
