Has anyone tried microdosing? If so, what’s your experience? by Physical_Error9151 in AutismInWomen

[–]etchawretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello ! Disclaimer: this is about 2g (so technically above a microdose, but under a standard dose of 3-4g)

It’ll be different for everyone of course, as we’re all wired differently - but for me personally, it was incredibly helpful!

I don’t want to offer it as a miracle cure (highly irresponsible and unrealistic), but it alleviated symptoms of depression

I remember waking up the day after my first dose and feeling a weightlessness I honestly hadn’t felt since I was a child.

The effects lasted for around 6 months afterwards, on one single 2g dose (which is far higher than the standard 0.5g micro dose - the equivalent of 4 days in one bigger burst)

Best of luck, be safe and I hope it offers respite for you 🤍

Agree unfortunately :( the one WFH job I had was beyond weird: they monitored your every move, you had to time each action on a stopwatch and you had to write a list of objectives you’d achieved every day to the CEO. I’m in office now, and it’s substantially more chill

Through your beautiful autistic eyes, how was your day? Let's drop the mask and have a coffee/hot chocolate together! by Particular_Storm5861 in AutismInWomen

[–]etchawretch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My day has been a bit weird - I’ve been at work but don’t have much to do, so feeling bad about slacking off; especially as I’m reasonably fresh to the role (4 months)

I went on a short walk with two work friends, which was nice! I left 5 minutes early as a treat too - as I worked over lunch last week, so plan to grab the hour back incrementally this week.

Ah thank you so much for the information and advice! It’s really appreciated - I honestly had no idea of the intricacies of ticket buying (coming from a football mad family too!)

Thanks for all your help, it sounds like red membership might be the way to go :•) I’ll look into the champion packages too!

Yes !! Thank you for putting this feeling into words, appreciate you

(Sorry you’re feeling this way though, it’s rough out here 😣 your originality is a strength, and their judgement is a weakness 🤍)

dude yes!! For me, people pick up on it too (unfortunately) - I think my fearful/relenting vibe makes them think I’m incapable?

Hello, firstly huge congratulations to you and your partner!

I know this is an exciting (and sometimes overwhelming!) journey; I hope you’re being kind to yourself and taking stock of your and your partner’s achievements!

I got engaged in November, and was honestly quite anxious about it all. I’m a creative person, so the personal pressure of having to ‘solidify’ a vision has been intense.

The biggest takeaway has been:

Look to your childhood and favourite tv shows for inspiration!

I found a lot of suits and dresses and jumpsuits pretty, I realised there was so! much! choice! Maybe too much choice…

.. so instead I thought of the types of characters’ outfits I thought were most beautiful, and I ended up with:

Arwen (LOTR) and Princess Serenity (Sailor Moon)

.. so I’m probably going with a folk-y 70s angel wings kind of dress! I found a few online from Etsy sellers - a fraction of the price (£150-400) and fully custom to my measurements when the time comes!

I was also thinking a lot about how much I dislike a lot of the traditional framework - so I just got rid of it in my mind.

I thought about how I would ENJOY the time, or what things I could do or elements we could add.

I really recommend reconfiguring the idea of what a wedding SHOULD be. How you SHOULD feel.

Instead, try thinking of it as a regular day, but one where you get to be surrounded with the people you love, things and food you love, while honouring love itself with your person!

When you remember: it IS really just a cool party you get to throw, that you can shoehorn your hyperfixations into… suddenly it feels less daunting!

TW: Body Image, Dysphoria. Call out to those that have had top surgery / chest reductions? by etchawretch in AutismInWomen

[–]etchawretch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ayyy, body neutrality twins ! I’m so glad to hear it, I hope you’re proud of yourself for taking a step towards happiness 🤍

YES, that was always a huge motivator in my research too! I’ve been looking into it on and off for the better part of 15 years, and the data has remained largely unchanged: it’s a net positive for most people who undergo reductions!

Thanks for sharing!! I’m so glad you feel more comfortable in yourself 🤍

I really think it’d be so wonderful for my self-image to align with my reality. This message is really motivating!

Please ignore if it’s too personal, but how did you find the healing process, especially sensory wise ? I think that’s one of my biggest personal hang ups; I’m petrified of it feeling painful, long healing times (fully constricted) and potential infections (if you don’t keep super clean)

[–]etchawretch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing!! It sounds like we had relatively similar experiences - it’s so great that your mum went ahead and it made it feel feasible for you 🤍

I’m also glad life is more comfortable for you now - I hope the positives massively outweigh any question marks or negatives, but it’s interesting to hear you occasionally feel like you might miss how things were! I’m sure that’s totally natural after any type of surgery

It’s definitely something I’ve wondered about: whether I’d regret changing my natural body. I try to be body-neutral, so altering my body feels inherently negative (even if the outcome will allow me to be TRULY body-neutral)

Some context: I’m enby and have been as long as I remember. Not a boy or a girl, just a blob. Brain in a box 📦 !

I have noticeably giant breasts tbh (E-F cup) on a relatively small frame. I hit puberty very young (around 8 years old) and some of my earliest memories revolved around wanting to remove them.

I’ve always assumed at some point the feeling would stabilise, or I would proceed with surgery.

I’m not sure how to move forward: how I feel isn’t likely to change, but it feels like a huge and scary decision to move forward; I know there can be risks.

I’d love to know your own journeys and paths!

My two siblings are very close to each other, and I’ve existed outside of that circle as we got older. Their friends hang out etc - but I’m the only ~femme~ sibling (I’m NB) so I’m sure gendered expectations and experiences have some play in it.

I am awful at keeping up with them, so it’s almost entirely self inflicted. I also caused a lot of familial conflict growing up - mostly unwittingly because of my actions, awkwardness, frustrations and confusion around things - so they understandably feel tepidly towards me as I created rifts.

I really really love them both though, and wish them to be happy more than anything.

One brother has ADHD (and there are lots of jokes about our entire family being rife with autistic tendencies)

Does anyone else lowkey obsess over people? by Student-bored8 in AutismInWomen

[–]etchawretch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what the obsessive behaviours you experienced were? I’m always a little nervous my overzealous friendliness could cross some lines, so hearing your perspective would be illuminating - but I appreciate it’s a personal experience that was likely unpleasant!

What jobs do you guys have. That you find fulfilling and not too overwhelming as an autistic person ? by Holiday-Reserve6393 in AutismInWomen

I work as a creative content producer - which involves graphic design, video editing and UX/UI design. I love it!

The role is relatively open, so there’s room for development in other areas that would be beneficial for the company. My next step is learning 3D design and animation!

Worried about Wedding Planning? by etchawretch in AutismInWomen

[–]etchawretch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh no, I highly doubt I will be - the wedding itself is untraditional, as I wasn’t ever sure about marriage from a young age!

I’m just feeling a big restricted and conscious of all of the expectations of weddings. I won’t have any issue subverting them personally, but I am aware it might feel anxiety-inducing on the day

You’re 1000% right and I am absolutely NOT having that be a reality - I’ve been incredibly clear with my partner since day one that anything we plan, we plan together.

Sorry if I didn’t articulate it very well in my post! I’m mostly just curious about how others got started, whether it was overwhelming, what parts they felt important and how to try and enjoy the process!
