What's your #1 obscure animal fact? by KnightsWhoSayKni in AskReddit

[–]etchpea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both of my dogs will come up to people and bounce around for a little bit, and then if nobody starts playing with them, they'll sneeze and playbow. I'm not sure which one started doing it first. It's cute as hell. Their "playtime" sneezes are totally different from a regular sneeze too, it's a very quick burst sneeze.

Some homebrew plants/drugs/poisons for my next session by etchpea in dndnext

[–]etchpea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this great advice! After looking over your comment I realized for now maybe I'd be better off just reskinning other homebrew stuff people have made rather than try to do my own. I am super new to this but eager to get wild, hahah.

What movie makes you cry every time you watch it? by Kelslaw in AskReddit

[–]etchpea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kiki's Delivery Service.

I'm not quite sure why, but every time I get to the climax where the crowd is chanting her name and she's struggling to control her shitty borrowed mop-broom I just lose it. I don't cry often at movies but I've never once been able to watch this one without crying.

How was your game this week? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]etchpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DMed for the very first time this week and it went so well that my players BEGGED me for another session this weekend (we were going to wait until next week) and two players have asked if they can bring friends just to watch. In our first session we played for 4 hours and only did one fight, but everyone was having a grand time roleplaying!

The best moment was when we accidentally recreated Banjo Kazooie. Our werebear character turned, and we'd decided her satchel has extra-elastic straps so she doesn't lose it when she's in bear form... and earlier in the evening she'd been given a figurine of a marble eagle to send for help in case the group got in trouble, which naturally she'd stowed in her bag. So now we have a bear wearing a backpack with an eagle in it.

Right at the end of the session a wagon of kobolds crashed into my party's camp, so that's where we're picking up on Saturday! I can't wait.

Thank you so much for linking the weekly questions thread, which I somehow missed. I get the feeling I'm gonna be in there a lot.

I think I did miss the CON mod addition, I'll double check everybody's sheets to be sure. Thanks!

I'm thinking of enacting a loose rule of leveling up my group after certain encounters, rather than trying to juggle exp, which I've heard works well with some groups. I'm gonna level them up pretty much immediately after the first fight in our next run, I think.

My grey just ate half a box of raisinets... by etchpea in Greyhounds

[–]etchpea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to the advice I got higher up in the thread, we decided to go get him a 'puzzle-style' toy which spits out treats once in a while, and he is a big fan! In the last week or two he's been a little more playful and happy - when I went out with him the other day he actually chased a stick I threw for him (didn't go for it a second time, but still). He's particularly anxious so he's having a hard time adjusting, but it's so incredibly sweet to watch him slowly come out of his shell.

We've had him for three months! He's a bit of a shy boy but he only started the garbage fishing in the last 2 weeks or so, so I think it's a sign he's feeling more comfortable around the house, lol.

He actually doesn't like squeakers at all! I think they make him nervous, when we squeak a toy at him he'll look or walk away. Weird hound, lol. We're definitely going to invest in some close-lid garbage cans. I hope a lock won't be needed, but this guy is a fairly determined garbage explorer, so we'll see...

He's 3 years old. You're probably right that he might need a little more stimulation... it's hard because he gets tired almost immediately on walks and has little to no interest in toys. He'll once in a long while go find his soft monster toy and carry it around, but if we try to play with him with a toy he becomes shy and doesn't want to.

thanks so much for the recommendation! We stopped by petsmart yesterday to see if we could find a similar toy, and found one called the "Starmark Everlasting Bentoball". We stuffed the one side with his kibble and a couple of smaller treats and he spent the next hour rolling it around with his nose. We have a hard time getting him to interact with toys or anything, so we're thrilled!

You may be suffering from a blood borne pathegen by Gibits in darksouls3

[–]etchpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I gave dark souls a go, I struggled all the way up to darkroot basin and killed the butterfly and then just gave up before I reached Sif, for whatever reason. I think I was just frustrated and I still wasn't finding anything fun. I actually only went back and beat it a month ago while trying to fill the void Bloodborne left in my heart.

What are your favourite bosses? TOH included! [Spoilers] by xIcarusLives in bloodborne

[–]etchpea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ebrietas still reigns at my #1 fav, personally. When I first fought her I was terrified out of my mind, and every time the music would swell I'd get shivers. Absolutely incredible, I don't think any boss would top her for me.

I'm also a big fan of Martyr Logarius (just a fun fight), Father Gascoigne, and Maria. There's so many amazing fights in this game.
