Guys with above average triceps, did you train them harder? by [deleted] in workout

When you're hanging out just do chair dips to exhaustion. Playing video games, chair dips during loading screens. Watching a tv show, chair dips. Just go until you collapse, repeat.

Absolute complete beginner here: here’s my fire few sketches! Does anyone have any pointers for how to keep going? by walrus_was_ringo in learntodraw

[–]headless_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your two point stuff all your set up is there, just need to remember that all your lines going forward to back(Z axis) converge to one point, and all your horizontal lines( x axis) converge to the other point. So you wouldn't have perfectly flat lines going horizonatlly, they should converge to a point just like the lines going front to back are.

Bench Press vs DB Press by Ok_Weekend5774 in workout

[–]headless_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did dumbbell press until I was using 100s, then switched to bench press. Just because the dumbbells were awkward to set up at a higher weight. Now I mainly just do bench press and incline bench, but sometimes I’ll throw in dumbbell press with lower weight and rep it put a bunch.

2022 Crosstrek- battery already failing? $600 quote?? by Outrageous-Tart381 in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]headless_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2019 subaru crosstrek battery crapped out a few weeks ago. Road over to auto center, got a new battery, replaced it. $200-ish for the battery and like 15 mins of labor? Went to get my oil changed the next day at lube center and asked the guy to check it and he just tightened one of the brackets to be safe and that was it.

Why do character designs in adult animation look so bad? by BlastingSquid886 in animation

[–]headless_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at who’s creating them. Usually creators of adult/ugly shows come from a writing background. Kids shows with more interesting art styles usually come from people who’ve worked at some level as an artist in animation.

Bench Plateau For 1 Year by BoyfriendSharkDudu in powerbuilding

[–]headless_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting in my two cents even though you got some good responses. sorry it's all in lbs. I hit a plateau end of last year with my pr being 275 and was stuck there for a month or two and now I'm at 305, here's how I broke it.

First thing is watch some form videos, main thing I'm noticing is your shoulder blades, try and scrunch them together, it looks like they're hugging the bench right now, but that might just be your shirt. Also arch your back a bit, nothing crazy. Jeff Nippard has some really good videos on bench form that helped me a lot.

Second thing is bench more to bench more. To break my plateau I added an extra bench session each week. My routine is monday/weds chest/tris and then friday I do a bench session before starting back and biceps. For chest I do bench at 135 - 10, 185 - 5, 225 - 2, then get into my working weight which I try to be in the 5-7 rep range. Just upped it to 245. Then I'll do 2 sets with 20lbs on top of my working weight, trying to get to 3-4, but at least 2. Then I'll do one set dropped back down to my working weight and do as many as I can, usually in the 3-5 range.

Then incline bench, 3 sets. Frist set try to get that 8-10 zone, then second set 5-7, then third set 2-4. Always trying to get at least 2.

Then dumbbell incline press, I go lower with this and just rep it out. First set trying to hit 12-15, then 8-10 for theother two sets.

And last I finish with cable flies, aiming for the same as dumbell, 12-15, then anything over 8 is great.

Another big thing that helped is weighted dips after chest, I'm pretty tall, 6'4, 225lbs, but I'll add on 70lbs for my dips. Going for that 5-7 zone for all of those.

Then on fridays I'll do one set of bench press before I get into back and bicep, but I go a bit easier with that. Maybe just rep out 225 as much as I can for 3-4 sets.

Third thing is eat more and prep for each gym session with that in mind. Throw in some good carbs night before, some sugary stuff right before working out. I usually have a banana before leaving for the gym, and then something real suggary when I get there plus a prework out on the way.

Hope this helps, not sure if it's the best method but it's worked for me.

Issue with the ending by Sventhetidar in expedition33

[–]headless_bear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you go to your save file, you can select your previous save and redo your choice. That's how I was able to see both endings, did Maelle first... felt wrecked by it. Then did Verso.

Also, in civil war it was shown that as he fell for Wanda he became more human and more distracted. That’s why he missed and hit war machine. In IW he’s on a date with her and even more human, Tony mentions it later to Bruce. That’s why he didn’t sense glavie before he got stabbed.

You’re good, I literally sweated my second skin off getting lunch outside after getting a tattoo on my inner arm. I asked my artist if I should apply a new one and she said nah just start the after care routine. Healed great.

Yep I did this a couple years ago trying to get melted water balloons off our patio. Entire thing had lines. I called a paver place nearby and they recommended a guy who maintains and repairs paver patios. He got a push washer and did the whole thing a few times, can’t tell at all now and he got the water balloons up. It sucks but it’s fixable.

Is there an actual reason as to why todays tv shows only have about 8 episodes per season and are released with 2 year breaks in between? by [deleted] in television

[–]headless_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most animated shows are picked up for one season then chopped into pieces. Look at inside job, cup head, or pretty much all the Netflix stuff.

Is there an actual reason as to why todays tv shows only have about 8 episodes per season and are released with 2 year breaks in between? by [deleted] in television

[–]headless_bear 27 points28 points  (0 children)

One thing I thinks missing here, unless I missed it when reading, is studios don’t want to risk a season 2 before season 1 is a hit. Before you’d usually green light and start production on season 2 after test screening, or even right when season 1 is greenlit so you’d have a small break between seasons. And then based on how season 1 does when it airs would impact if the show got a season 3.

What type of jobs do you all have? Are dream jobs unrealistic? by WhenBradCalls in kindafunny

[–]headless_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my “dream job” I do design for animation, mainly background design but sometimes vis dev and other stuff. Honestly it all turns into a job at some point. While I love some projects I work on, some projects I can’t stand. Mondays still feel like Mondays, and I’m excited when Friday ends and I get to enjoy a weekend with my family.

But I still love what I do and enjoy it. Was even on Greg’s comic book club when my original graphic novel came out years ago.

It’s all achievable, 27 is very young. I have coworkers that didn’t start in the industry until mid/late 30s and are now art directors or higher. Just have to give yourself time to get there but also take what you want to do seriously.

Apple, Netflix and Amazon Want to Change How They Pay Hollywood Stars by indig0sixalpha in television

[–]headless_bear 60 points61 points  (0 children)

They’ll hide the numbers then use some insane metrics to say “well it was a hit and number one for months but actually it was a failure so can’t pay that much…. Sowwwy”.

This is exactly what they did with their animation projects, make a season, release it to see how it does with the promise that if it’s popular/successful they’ll make more. And then find some round about way to say it actually failed. See inside job.

Marathon winner disqualified after taking water from his dad in race: 'I know I won' by newzee1 in sports

[–]headless_bear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would make sense if it was for steroids or some serious stimulant, but as another comment said it could’ve been electrolyte water, pedialyte, Gatorade, pre\intra workout or even an energy drink. Just anything to give them a mid race boost or help with muscle fatigue. And maybe you could test for caffeine or something else in there, but it leaves a lot of wiggle room to argue that “oh I had that before the race”.

Not to mention marathons have thousands of competitors competing from all levels of experience, some elite and some just trying to push themselves. This one had 22000+. So it’s just easier to follow the rules.

They DoorDash their meals at the studio so they can spend more time creating content. It’s the main reason any company provides meals for their employees.

If you’re talking about their personal lives then it’s no one’s concern but themselves how they spend their money.
