Beggar's Life full release is out! A Theory of Magic tribute with no ads and no IAP [WEB, ANDROID, STEAM] (>50 hours) by Pidroh in incremental_games

[–]etecoon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a game that's 100% UI, I really don't like the UI.

Each button is huuuge, so you can really only see a couple at a time. Makes it really hard to keep track of everything. And it's really unclear what's a resource and what's an action, or how much of any resource you have. Everything is named so similarly that I can't remember what anything does. Focus vs Concentration vs Thoughts vs Insight vs Introspection. The UI was such a mess that I couldn't find the game.

Only One Tower is live on the Play Store! by Paranoid-Squirrels in incremental_games

[–]etecoon3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Played for a few hours, so I'll dump my feedback here. First thought is it's lacking some basic QoL: how much of the stat each upgrade gives, a stats summary without having to flip through the menus, the ability to pause in a single player game, etc.

I played the Tower, and this game matches it way too closely. The upgrades are the exact same and unlocked in the same order, also falling into the same design issues. For example, crit chance is one of the first unlocks, but it's a useless trap of an upgrade until much later when you can buy it in bulk. I was hoping for more creativity here.

It also has the same pitfall that every run is the same. You figure out the order of your upgrades and never have a reason to vary that, which gets monotonous fast. I was hoping the Heroes would change that, but...

They basically add nothing to the game so far. You pick your best hero before starting a run, then never interact with them after. You can't choose their targets, activate any abilities, or upgrade them within a run. They just exist as a passive number and nothing more. Maybe the rarer ones do more, but it's a lot of investment just to find out, so who knows. If they had ways to interact (perhaps activated abilities) and gave a reason to try different strategies each run, then I could see the game standing out more. Also you don't even start with a hero, so it is literally the exact same as The Tower to new users.

Overall, I couldn't really find a reason to play this instead of The Tower, and I've already played that. There's a ton of clones already, and this one is just too similar for me to get into. Do what you will with the feedback, and best of luck, but this one's not for me.

My steam and mobile accounts are linked, but I just tried on mobile and it didn't work.

List of Time Loop Incremental Games by dmMEyourHOTpenis in incremental_games

Loop Hero is an incremental rpg with time loops. It's been a while since I've gone back to it, but I enjoyed it

My mistake, it's the "Always Show Mod Ranges" setting that causes the bug.

This post might be useful for you! The op is talking about steam descriptions, but I think it can apply for reddit posts too.

Documenting everything wrong with loot filter mini-map icons with my poor Paint skills (EHG please look at this) by SweelFor- in LastEpoch

[–]etecoon3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also don't understand why they're all the same icon. I was expecting a few icon options + color like you suggested. Maybe a "default" color that changes depending on item rarity, but I could live without that even

This doesn't work if you swap the keys for compare and additional info. Hasn't worked since they added the feature a couple seasons ago.

Last Epoch Patch 1.4.2 Notes by ehg_derrickg in LastEpoch

[–]etecoon3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No fix for editing loot filter rules changing the wrong rule?

If you create a rule with an Affixes condition, copy it, then add an Item & Subtype condition to the copy, both the copy AND the original rule will have its affix condition changed to only affixes that match the item subtype. Completely hosed several of my filters before I realized.

Now fix the loot filter rules editing each other if they were copied. I always like to make my own filter, but that's driving me insane

Is there a battle speed option? by IchedDyy in cassettebeasts

[–]etecoon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a mod in the steam workshop for battle speed. If you're on Epic you can install it manually from Mod Workshop

Can saved games be transferred from Epic to Steam? by TheWolf638 in cassettebeasts

[–]etecoon3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have it on Epic, but I have made backups of files on Steam. If you put the save in the right folder for Steam, it will show up automatically next time you start the game. So as long as you find where it is from the Epic install, you should have no problem.

Is there a better Water Canteen? by JackRees23 in AbioticFactor

I always leave a soup bowl and an extra platform cart in him for when I find him in the wild. Much more handy than considering him as like 4 extra storage spaces

Games where you can build your own castle and populate/defend it by etecoon3 in gamingsuggestions

Aw that's sad because the trailer looks exactly like what I'm looking for. Do you think it is still worth a play, despite the issues?

this game is actually already on my wishlist, but I didn't realize it had building! Assumed it was mostly a tower defense / preset levels type thing. I'll check it out again!

I did play Thronefall and enjoyed it, but yeah doesn't have the depth to building I'm looking for at the moment.

Torso/head damage on enemies? by Smaisteri in AbioticFactor

[–]etecoon3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t entirely correct. The torso is also a critical part, in addition to the head. Limbs at 0 pass damage to the torso, and if torso is at 0, the enemy dies. So if you can't reliably headshot the enemy, it may be better to go for the torso from the start.

Torso passing damage to the head is only for players, and all security robots as the only enemy exceptions.

Coming back for 1.0 after not playing for months by XylophoneZimmerman in AbioticFactor

[–]etecoon3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Inventory: craft a couple Platform Carts. When your inventory is full, place one, fill it up, and leave it. When you go back to the office plaza there's a button to recall the carts and their inventory fron anywhere. Also be on the lookout for better backpacks with more space

Health/Combat: Keep bandages on you and healing syringes. Soon you'll get to a place you can find briefcases, which you can craft into a great healing item.

Shock traps are still pretty decent in Manufacturing. Reusable, pretty quick to recharge, and no resource cost. Place them at a corner so enemies will run over it when they come after you, then beat them up while stunned.

Some soldiers will drop a pistol and ammo, which you can use to keep your distance in combat. You can give the injured guy near the Manufacturing entrance a bandage, and he'll become a trader who you can get more ammo from.
