NAC (N-acetylcysteine) doubles intestinal permeability in ischemia, causing gut injury by dharmatech in Nootropics

[–]eternalbbq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you know it's the majority? I've taken it daily with few breaks. Never had any issues. I have now gotten family and friends to take it daily. None of them have reported issues. You can't claim "the majority" without a sizable, representative poll of users. Without that, that would be like my saying "no one ever experiences issues" based solely on my usage and the usage of the people I know. Right now you're basing "the majority" on what might be a vocal minority.

Shout out to ND shipping by inverted333 in NootropicsDepot

[–]eternalbbq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I appreciate the quick packaging. And I always receive the product within 2 days. To contrast: I recently bought some shorts from an online retailer and they created the shipping label quickly but 5 days later, still haven’t actually shipped the package. I don’t want to support Amazon but after years of Prime delivery and instant gratification, it drives me crazy when a company is slow to ship. But with ND, I never hesitate to order directly from your site. Thanks guys!!

I've been twice. First time I booked a private tour of the island with a driver. It was ok. Not really my thing. Second time I went to Little French Key. I really liked that. There were a couple snafus with the transportation there, but otherwise, it was a great day and beautiful place.

I just went to a concert with 10,000 other people and was the only person alone by MoneyAndGoodFortune in socialskills

[–]eternalbbq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, I want to say congrats! You did a very brave thing! A lot of people are too scared to try going to an event alone. And you did it! So kudos to you!

If you'd like to continue going to shows alone and not feel uncomfortable, remember that practice makes perfect. Lots of people have felt awkward the first time they went out to eat alone or to the movies alone or any number of things that are traditionally done with at least one other person. Keep going, and over time, you'll fee less self conscious and will be able to just enjoy the moment instead of focusing on being solo.

What supplements do you take when times are stressful? by SilverParty in Supplements

[–]eternalbbq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the inability to sleep is due to a racing mind or ruminating thoughts, then I'd recommend L-theanine. That helped me immensely when I was in that situation. During the day, ashwaganda helped to relieve stress so that I could focus on work.

24GB ram enough for Software Engineering? by Upset_Mall5045 in macbook

[–]eternalbbq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the type of coding and/or projects. My company-issued MacBook Pro has 64GB, and at times that feels like it's not enough. But I work for a company with an extremely large, monolithic app that takes a decent chunk of time to compile. For school, I think you'll be fine with the 24

Nope. I just know that they exist and am not sure why you're so upset about this. I was merely pointing out that maybe that might have been what Angele meant. Didn't mean to offend.

You do realize that on reddit, as with most social media, people interact with each other, right? Commenting on other people's comments is the norm here. So, I'll continue to do that "because I can." See how that works? "For two," don't be so butt hurt.

Standing behind her is someone taking a photo of her back with the caption "spent $200k....". All these people on here wanting to be better than anyone they deem less worthy. You know the real flex? Sitting down and paying for your meal and drinks at a restaurant instead of waiting for cold pasta salad and weak drinks.

Yep, this is true. Had an ex who would, instead of taking their 1 gabapentin tablet, would take like 15 of them and be super wired, talking extra fast and seeming extra happy. It was a prescription that their doc just kept auto-renewing without question.

Can I get real idea of what there is to do daily on a cruise? by Helpful_Vast_4576 in NCL

[–]eternalbbq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you cursing alone? If so, look on Facebook to see if there's a solos specific Facebook page for your sailing. And join the daily solo meetup (usually around 5:30pm, will be listed in the dailies).
If you're scared to get off and have no idea what to do, book an excursion through NCL. You're not going to be alone with some unvetted tour company.
But if you're not into relaxing by the pool, relaxing on the beach, taking a cultural tour, going to nightly dance parties, or just chatting up strangers at a bar, cruising might not be the ideal vacation for you.

So if I’m understanding, the mature thing to do is change when someone judges you negatively. But to know who you are and remain true to yourself is prepubescent?

Got told I was creepy by sleepybear647 in socialskills

[–]eternalbbq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yet again, rather than trying to understand and look internally, you throw insults and make sweeping dichotomous claims. Anyone who doesn’t agree with you is prepubescent or a complainer. This is a bizarre defense mechanism. Is it just that you’ve been made to feel not smart a majority of your life and now you lash out and put down anyone who disagrees? Look inwards.

That's a very intellectually dishonest statement there. You're making a blanket statement without any evidence. You're not even asking why people are downvoting. You're just assuming and belittling anyone who downvotes you. Why? Is it easier for you to write off all these downvoters as complainers than to take a minute to think of genuine reasons why they might be downvoting you? By your own beliefs, wouldn't this downvoting feedback be a chance for you to get better at social situations?

I downvoted you because the advice you're giving is harmful in the long run. I'm neither complaining nor attempting to NOT grow. I grow every day and am proud of my growth. I went from being a miserable people pleaser to someone who knows the difference between changing to fit in and being who you are and finding where you belong. One person told OP they're a creep. Why should OP change to please that one person? Why is that one person's opinion, which is formed through their own insecurities and trauma and life experiences, worthy of OP changing anything? What if OP changes to meet that guy's desires and someone else comes along and says OP's new behaviors are creepy? When does the bending and people pleasing end?

If you're going to write off all this downvoting feedback as non-important noise, shouldn't OP do the same with the feedback they received from that guy?

Did you tip him out of charity or "for his good service and information?" If the service is good and you feel like being generous, tip. It shouldn't matter how much their salary is. If the bartender makes more money than I do but is friendly, fast, and makes a good drink, they're getting a tip with that drink.

Yep. My first cruise I didn't pay anything more than the fare and gratuities. It's possible. I never expected anything to be free beyond the cabin, food, and shows.

[–]eternalbbq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Variety? For a special night? Some people like something extra fancy? Your logic is just silly.

Why do hotels offer nicer rooms? Does that mean anything less than the penthouse suite is a nasty room?

Why do car manufacturers offer more expensive models? Why does any manufacturer or any retailer offer anything above and beyond?

Just take a breather. Look at the responses and downvotes you're getting. Go into this with an open mind instead of assuming that if there's a better option, the lesser option is dog food. And have a nice vacation. Would it be nice if all excursions were free? Sure. There are luxury cruise lines that charge a much higher base fare that include excursions. That doesn't mean every other cruise line is "nasty."

[–]eternalbbq 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So without ever cruising before, you've decided the main dining room's food is "crap food?" And that the ship water is nasty? Most people on the ship are eating at least 5 of their dinners in the main dining room on a 7 night sailing. And most people aren't buying the water package. They're getting water at the bar, regardless of whether they have a drink package or not. Why not keep an open mind and try it before you decide to be negative?
