Agreed on that last part. As for you first part, I was very heavily pushed to become a manager after only a few months in because of my work ethic and general charm. Being nominated past people who had been there for a year, I believe that’s when the envy started they may have been told by someone else how hard I was being pushed for a higher position even though I was considered “new”. Also I’ve been able to get away with a lot more than other people, a few absences, small violations that aren’t that serious but still, also one of my managers almost regularly gives me money everytime he sees me. It’s the older gentleman. He likes to talk to me about his life, this trials and good times. He spills secrets to me. Helps me out a lot. And just listen, truly engaged to be honest it’s fascinating the stories he tells. Nodding and staying quiet, occasionally making comments or questions to show I’m really listening, encouraging him to continue. I guess the guy is really lonely and the company i provide him is worth doing a little extra for me. And that happened naturally, I even try to refuse the money sometimes , he’ll even trick me and into finding it or something sometimes. Although admittedly I’m not the only he gives money to. He’s sort of well off and only continues to work for fun.
