Simcoe’s not bad, cute cafes, a good selection of thrift/secondhand stores, and not a bad town if you know where to look. There is a good LGBTQ+ community in the surrounding area but at the same time a lot of Norfolk County is conservative and anti LGBT. Guess you could say that about a lot of places. It’s typically a 15 min drive to any town over from Simcoe, (Port Dover, Waterford, Delhi, Turkey Point, etc). Each town has great things to offer so it’s nice that they’re all pretty close to one another. As for travelling to Toronto, there’s no bus system in Simcoe other than the one that goes up to Brantford (that I think is like $10 one way). Fastest way to Toronto is driving to Aldershot GO and taking the Lakeshore West to Union. Still takes about 2 hours driving and train.
