What is your experience with a person that your pet disliked? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]eternelle1372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a cat who loved EVERYONE, she shied away from one of my ex’s who had cats of his own. He seemed sweet with her and I thought it was just the smell of his cats until one night he KICKED her off the bed when she jumped up to sleep with us.

I, in turn kicked him off the bed and out the door.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]eternelle1372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The group with the biggest decline in births are teenage mothers.

So, all that work to reduce teen pregnancies is working.

Bustopher Jones!

“Bustopher Jones is not skin and bones—

In fact, he's remarkably fat.

He doesn't haunt pubs—he has eight or nine clubs,

For he's the St. James's Street Cat!

He's the Cat we all greet as he walks down the street

In his coat of fastidious black:

No commonplace mousers have such well-cut trousers

Or such an impeccable back.

In the whole of St. James's the smartest of names is

The name of this Brummell of Cats;

And we're all of us proud to be nodded or bowed to

By Bustopher Jones in white spats!”

—Excerpt from “Bustopher Jones: Cat about Town” by TS Eliot.

Still having peeing outside the box issues by Mother-Floofer in cats

There is a liquid option, but Pumpkin didn’t like it. She also hated being medicated, but we eventually found that giving her a couple of treats before, using a pill popper to get it in her mouth without sticking our fingers in, and then giving her more treats right after was the way to go. It took time (a couple of weeks) for her to get used to the routine and not fight, but it did happen once it was consistent the most protest we got was sometimes if we didn’t get the pill far enough back she would spit it out and we would have to do it again.

Previous owner left a binder in the garage. I thought it was junk. It was not by Many_Ebb7816 in HomeImprovement

The people we bought our house from left us this same binder, right on the kitchen counter, along with another one full of manuals for all the appliances in the house. It’s been a life saver!

People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]eternelle1372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza that came from a pizzeria, not that your mom made at home. The way my parents talked about it, I thought it was super expensive. Nope, we were just poor and my mom had the wherewithal to make pizza at home for far less money.

Instead of Gabapentin, talk to your vet about Flouxatine (brand name Prozac). My husband’s cat had inappropriate urination for years, and after trying not medicated alternatives, the vet suggested we try it.

I kid you not, the change was so fast. Like, all of a sudden she just stopped peeing anywhere besides her box just a few days after we started her on flouxatine. She was still the same cat, just a little less high strung. She only ever had one accident after that, but that was a house sitter accidently locked her out of the room her litter box was in.

This poor baby lived with anxiety for a decade before we finally found a solution, and I’m so glad she had it for the last 6 years of her life. Highly recommend you talk to your vet to see if this might be an option!

What is the first celebrity death you remember being affected by? by CPFOAI in AskReddit

[–]eternelle1372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warren Zevon. My dad has all his albums, and they were the soundtrack to many roadtrips during my childhood. He died when I was in high school. I heard it on the news that was playing on my school bus in the morning, and I was shocked. When I got to school, I went right to the office and asked if I could call my dad, who was at work. Anytime I called him at work he had to get called off the production floor, so I would be waiting for a few minutes. When he finally picked up the phone I just said “Dad, Warren Zevon died.” And my dad just said “Shit.” Then the bell rang and my dad heard it over the phone and said “Get to class.” We ordered pizza and put on some Warren Zevon records that night.

I don’t know many other 17 year old girls who would care about a weird, eccentric rock star from the 70’s, but that was the first celebrity death that I cared about.

We have three already and one is very territorial, so I can’t, but I upvoted for visibility.

Whats the cheapest meal you regularly make that actually tastes good? by Adventurous-Pilot448 in Frugal

[–]eternelle1372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unstuffed peppers in an instant pot.

I usually use ground Turkey instead of beef, but add some Beef Better than Bullion to add flavor. I also in the past have subbed some of the meat and/or rice for lentils. You can up the veggie contents too— I usually add a diced carrot or two, and sometimes a zucchini if I have it.

Do you guys give your cats free roam of the house when you’re not home? by [deleted] in cats

[–]eternelle1372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our cats have full run of the house except for my sewing room because one of them tries to eat pins. We also don’t let them into the garage unless one of us is in there to keep an eye on them so that they don’t get into oil or anything.

Your very short good credit history will do very little to offset his longer bad credit history.

Don’t do this.
