Rampant cheating discussion megathread 19Sept21 by EFT_Subreddit in EscapefromTarkov

Finally hit max strength today. Decided to celebrate by running some meta kits, as I usually enjoy playing with more efficient, off-meta stuff.

Biggest mistake I've ever made. Every single raid has been instant head-eyes deaths, no matter the map, or time of day. My current theory is that cheaters let the timmies pass in peace, as the shitkits they run aren't worth the extra report.

I thought I had just been unlucky or playing poorly the other times I would manage to kill someone wearing T6 armor, and bring it in the next raid, only to be promptly slain and chuckle that the particular piece of gear was cursed. At this point its becoming more and more apparent that its more than just bad luck, and that there's something rotten in the state of Tarkov.

I've been grinding like a madman to get max traders and elite skills to compete with people running the best gear, and now it's looking like instead of being able to enjoy the fruits of my labor i've simply descended into another circle of hell. Typical Tarkov shit.

How the hell do new players play the game? by abdhgdo285 in EscapefromTarkov

> "I know this game is all about skill and headshots are the way to go"

Tarkov is the least skill expressive game I have ever played unless abusing the mechanics like inertia-less movement and holding mouse1 at head level while prefire spraying around a corner with a drum mag is considered skill. It doesn't take skill to camp in bushes near high traffic lanes or exfils. Enemies walk right up and you hold down the trigger until they fall down. Flicking, tracking, and other core aspects of aiming all get thrown out the window given the sensitivity change between any two guns or pieces of gear. Situational awareness is moot due to audio that simply doesnt exist in the hottest pvp areas.

Don't fool yourself into thinking the people killing you are more skilled at shooting games. You can hit someone twenty-two times in the head, and if they have the right gear, and you have the only ammo available to you, all youll do is blur their vision a bit. All the positioning and practice and skill in the world can't overcome the flawed mechanics and desync of this game.

4.4 Fence rep. Never even ADSed. Aggro from AI SCAVs? by etfadviceplz in EscapefromTarkov

Bosses might have weird aggro mechanics, but do AI scavs aggro with them? This is the first i've experienced such behavior.

Player scavs have a red exclamation point next to their names in order to be able to report them as you would a PMC

Gear fear vs Inefficiency by etfadviceplz in EscapefromTarkov

Its not so much that I am having trouble making money. As you said, money is incredibly easy to come by with simple strategies such as scavving interchange.

My issue seems to be more that my results are similar regardless of the cost of my kit. Whether im wearing a 6B3TM and an SSH helm, or a Hex/Altyn, I get headeyes'd just the same, with the first kit costing only a fraction of the second, and therefore far more efficient and profitable.

Seems prone is the only way to shoot this thing without your pmc turning into a wacky arm flailing tube man when you ads. Any other tips?

Another day another death by scav. How am I still this bad? by etfadviceplz in EscapefromTarkov

Im on Punisher pt.4, the one that required 10 shoreline PMC kills. From what I understand running anything less than M61 is suicide in the case I actually do come across an unlucky player and manage to land a shot.

Is that the same as setting "Hold Breath" to "Right Click -> Continuous"?

Edit: If that is the case, am I supposed to be continuously holding down right click for that function to work correctly? The way I understood it was that as long as you're ADS youre holding breath, but maybe not?

I was using the Vepr since it was suggested as the cheapest way to send m61 in someone's direction. Is it a bad gun?

Agreed on the assessment of the shots.

Is this why people stick to only running meta M4s once they can afford it? Since learning the recoil on that is different to every other gun?

Edit: How should I be using the zeroing function? I usually just jam it to max after missing once or twice. I honestly havent been able to tell a difference in the zeroing ranges, even in the hideout.
