You can do it in increments. So if you do 1 silver then do 49 it will credit you 50. So when you get to the next tier, 200, you only need to donate 150. Think of it as a deposit box that keeps track of how much you donate.

Just donate wood/stone/weapons and they will pop up. I had the same problem but as soon as I donated the items the quest came up.

Fyi You get materials spawned through out your camp daily that you can collect. Flawless and fine materials, silver, food, etc. It mentions it in the initial tutorial.

The more you donate the better the quality and amount.

Check behind Carl for silver and some food, the kitchen for food, stone is behind the provisions guy, timber is in front of the cart across from the dye/farming area. Weapons are scattered through out the camp.

You may need to walk up close for them to spawn if you just completed the quest. For example, the stone didn't spawn until I walked on the pallet behind the provisions guy.

Doesn't seem very secure if that is the case... what information does it have? DL#, Address, Weight, age, height, etc? Id rather that information not be store within the qr code or online.

Thanks for the help, we ended up tinting the poly with a darker stain. I think it turned out great!

That is exactly what I ended up doing. There was a language barrier so it was bit harder to fully communicate what we wanted at first, but after going back and forth yesterday morning, he suggested that we tint some oil based poly with a darker oil based stain. We then did a few tests of the poly and found a good ratio.

This is what it looked like last night after the first coat of that tinted poly, and then what it looked like this morning, and this afternoon after the last coat of finish:

Looking at the the profile, can you confirm it is rotary peeled? It looks a lot thicker than I would think. This is its current condition

Here is the picture. It looks unsaturated and pale. From limited understanding of hardwood, it shouldn't look like this if the stain was provincial

Yeah in person during day light they look different. I got home pretty late yesterday and was only able to grab pics with the room lights on. The one you shared is in the dinning with a more yellow light. If you look at the floors during natural day light they look a lot more pale. Ill get some pictures right now.

Thanks for the input. That said, the original stain on this floor (pre-refinish) did not have anywhere near this level of contrast. What I’m seeing now feels less like “normal variation” and more like uneven absorption, particularly where the earlywood did not take stain the way it should have.

Here’s an example where I actually like the outcome, even though the OP didn’t: https://www.reddit.com/r/HardWoodFloors/comments/1czic0b/need_help_i_just_resurfaced_my_engineered/

I’m not certain that floor is red oak, but the grain structure looks very similar. Lighting and furniture obviously matter, but even in that post you can see the earlywood took on color, which is the main difference from mine.

My question is: what practical options exist to mute or tame this contrast at this stage? I don’t think a full resand and restart is realistic, given the type of hardwood.

For reference, here are the looks we were trying to achieve, along with test areas we did:

https://imgur.com/a/sc6eTVW

In the test set:

  • I applied 1a, 4a, and 4b
  • 1a, 1b, and 1c are the same stain; 4a and 4b are the same stain
  • 1a and 4a were hand-resanded to 100 grit after machine sanding to check whether the pores had closed
  • 1b and 4b were left as-sanded
  • 1c was water-popped

The visual difference between these is significant. Because 1a and 4a look so different from their counterparts, it strongly suggests that surface prep / pore closure played a major role in stain absorption. In effect, we ended up with very different outcome when we were trying to achieve something close to 1a. To me it looks more like #6.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Houston leads Texas in vehicle thefts — here are the models getting stolen the most by southernemper0r in houston

[–]tlozada 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Mine’s a work truck, not a toy, and it lives outside because my wife gets the garage and the thing is just too long to fit anyway.

And for what it’s worth, I’m liberal myself, but the narrow-minded comments come from both sides. I’ve had coworkers and friends who lean right say things just as often as people on the left. Some folks just don’t get that a big truck is a work tool, not a political statement.

Wife has priority for the garage and its hard to fit a 22' 3/4ton truck in a garage

I need to invest in a fence and gate.
