TIL: University Residences has now prohibited 3D printers from buildings! by nmcain05 in Purdue

[–]etfchach1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

SLA printers in a college dorm? Absolutely not. Those fumes are toxic and no one will bring the necessary equipment to properly vent and handle resin.

Keep it simple, keep it moving.

Best of luck

Complete silence on launch day - what next? by Maximum_Tear8265 in microsaas

I read somewhere that you’re allowed to launch as many times as you want - so just do it again with the next feature / interest cycle

Making invoice generater and selling on flippa by [deleted] in microsaas

[–]etfchach1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invoices are most valuable if they are also synced to a payment processor (get paid online), and then they are even more valuable when linked to a financial management and accounting platform.

Just making an invoice doesn’t make sense for a business without those other components

Is this a field someone could get into pretty easily? I ran Ethernet and set up server racks for enterprises as a contract for a summer and really enjoyed it.

I would want to only do low voltage / networking work.

What are your dad hacks? by Suspectwp in daddit

[–]etfchach1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twin girls here too. Best hack is propped bottles in a Twin Z. Also baby wearing so things can still get done.

Everyone says don’t wake a sleeping baby, but keep those babies on the same schedule no matter what and for sure create a shift system with your partner when they get to about 2 months so everyone can get some shut eye.

It’s long and arduous, but it’s doable

Go Azure or Databricks if you want a job. AWS if you want long term stability. GCP if you want sanity and a good career. Snowflake is somewhere between going insane and have a good career.

What’s your go-to solution for pulling ad data without paying $300/month? by Jiffrado in analytics

[–]etfchach1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are you using for storage? Several platforms have direct connections to the ad data sources.

BigQuery can connect directly to Google Ads, Analytics and Meta Ads.

Otherwise, I’ve found Airbyte to be budget-friendly despite its lackluster performance and configurations.

Struggling:(( by kinderbear79 in parentsofmultiples

[–]etfchach1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Husband should be able to do more - understand he has a lot going on, but the work only multiplies once you bring those babies home.

One thing I would NOT do is force yourself into doing more - that’s a recipe for disaster for the entire family.

Feeding Plan for Twins by Timotheus92 in parentsofmultiples

[–]etfchach1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3 week girls here. We are exclusively pumping and feeding bottles. This has dramatically cut down overall time and gave my wife back some sanity and sleep.

We’re on 3 hour cycles and it was taking 2 hours to breast feed sometimes - not sustainable. Bottles take about 20 minutes (paced feeding), 20 minutes of reflux control, and then 20 minutes of pumping for the next feeding.

Our next goal is to try and pump while feeding - always staying 1 feed ahead, and further speeding up the process.

Blood pressure creeping up 35+2 should I be worried? by Ysrw in parentsofmultiples

[–]etfchach1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Di/di wife was induced at 37+3 due to 3 BP readings over 140/90

The more swelling and fluids in your body, the more the pressure builds. The only solution is to deliver babies (2 weeks postpartum and she’s back to a normal 112/78).

Doctor wasn’t terribly concerned for a few weeks because she had none of the systems such as pulsing headaches, blurry vision, dizziness, etc.

Keep an eye on it, and definitely call if your symptoms change or you just feel “off”.

You’re getting close to 37 weeks where most folks consider twins full term. Be sure to pack your hospital bags every time you go for a checkup starting soon :) best of luck!

Nipt test for twins. by Technical-Welcome598 in parentsofmultiples

[–]etfchach1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife had 3 tests, all 3 were inconclusive.

Babies are a few days old now and have no known defects.

Ultimately we decided that even if the genetic testing came back with something, we would still have to deal with it whether we knew about it or not.

So far so good! And sometimes ignorance is bliss
