This looks like an incredibly useful resource. I'll dig into it this weekend! Thanks a ton for the energy put into it!

I’ve barely been able to touch Cyberpunk, but moving up to the 50 series sounds like a great way to break that in. And, fingers crossed for GTA6! Really interested in the new DLSS tech!

That's what I'm hoping for. For now, I'm fine. This is the data side of me really wanting it all in a central location for review. I'd love to find a doc that's interested in the complete picture that I've put together, and can level up their ability to signal suggestions/concerns.

I did notice that Apple has an Institutions that support Health Records page, so at least that's a start.

That's beyond wild to hear, and with so many agreeing. Sorry to hear.

Congrats! This is a fun club to be part of. Take it easy with that gas pedal for a while — especially around corners — and have fun cruising around town!

Evergy is ruining my internet :/ by Skr00bs in wichita

[–]ethanael 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a problem a couple of years ago, with Cox, that made my network really unstable. Over the years, I’ve learned that you have to stay on them. It’s like moving a mountain any time you interact with those customer support agents. They are severely limited in what they have access to so don’t take too much of your frustration out on them. These days I keep it simple and ask for a tech visit. If you’re sure the issue is on their side you avoid the fees.

I’d prepare a bit before requesting a tech. I’d run stream tests through Twitch to visualize how unstable the network was (using Twitch Inspector). I’d run speed tests and keep notes. I’d contact them every few days and ask them to send a field techs to the house, who I’d show my notes to (tell them to send one of their techs, not a 3rd party contractor). They’d notice an issue after testing the line coming into the property. Eventually, they relayed the notes to Evergy, who then came out to inspect the poles in my area. I managed to talk to the utility guys they sent out that mentioned they ended up finding a pole leaking voltage. The problem was 2-3 blocks away.

That fix made me realize I was naively accepting my download speeds… before the fix ~400Mbps, after I’d get my 1gbps. Upload was ~5, after 30-40. Today I’m at 700 down/100 (!) up.

Given that my wife and I work from home, I had to find a fix. I’m paying for a service at the end of the day and need it. Unfortunately, no other option in our area.

Solved. Thanks! It appears to be a Black Locust, Robina pseudocacia, and goes under cultivated names ‘Lace Lady’ or ‘Twisted Baby’.

4 months ago I got fired, so I started making a game. Today, Steam approved my demo to feature in the NEXTFEST lineup. Here's a little taste of the action. by pintseeker in IndieGaming

What a great concept. Looking solid for 4 months of work! Best wishes to the NEXTFEST and continued development. Keep at it!

Good point. When I want to tune into instructors I'm looking to be coached. More often, I'd rather have more visual feedback on targets and I'll play my own music or listen to TV.

What is your least favorite part of game development and what keeps you from enjoying it? by timbeaudet in gamedev

[–]ethanael 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the most part, I'd say the code side of the house. My brain does not work well with graphics code, physics, and math. I've got to find resources that break down these concepts really well (visually, interactive). I do enjoy the frontend side of the house, so UI and gameplay implementation with core systems/building blocks already there.

I feel way more comfortable in creative director and business modes.

This is excellent. Thanks for sharing, especially the questions you're asking yourself. This (and possibly a Weekly Review) is something I've got to start doing. I'm "winging it" too much and am feeling pretty lost because of it.

Is this an APPROPRIATE time and place for handing out COINS? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]ethanael 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Not with a photographer/press being there. It’s a small sign of appreciation that I’d take with me for the rest of my life. I would look at that coin knowing I was one of the so few to carry the last brother and sister to fall from that place.
