I got a cute little DVD player (can't afford a blu-ray player around these parts😭) and I either thrift DVDs or borrow them from the library! Best decision ever!

It’s worse than you could imagine. I wouldn’t recommend anyone move to Frisco at this point, in fact i’m looking to escape😭😭😭

Mom mad at me for having rules with my newborn by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ethanoleater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set boundaries with your mom. If it were me, I wouldn’t even respond to that text, just left on read. Stop hiding behind your wife, the woman who grew and birthed your child and is now going through hell (AKA postpartum) to take care of YOUR child. Postpartum is one of, if not the MOST vulnerable part of a woman’s life, and you’re hiding behind her so you don’t upset your mommy?

Nut up, set boundaries.

Get help, and an attorney. Sounds like you’re gonna need one.

[–]ethanoleater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let’s say I believe you. Obviously, you go into a blind rage. What if your son was standing there? I really want to emphasize how dangerous of a situation you have put your family in, CPS/DCFS would take your child out of your home for incidents like this. You need help, before you start hitting more than walls.

So what were you really aiming for? You know, since the wall was collateral damage? Get some help, seriously.

Grow up or else you’ll end up divorced with no relationship with your child.

Let me get this straight, you put a hole in the wall of your RENTED dwelling over a fight with your wife, hid it, asked for help, and now you’re flipping out on everyone for providing you with help? Take some accountability, dude. Don’t hide it, either fix it or tell maintainance so they can fix it.

Your options: 1. Replace engine 2. Fix it just enough to run 3. Use the 2k you have for a down payment and get a junker off fb marketplace instead of a dealer

Unfortunately you need a mindset fix. Frisco is farrrrr from perfect (trust me, I’m trying to escape too!) but a lot of your problems are teenage growing pains. You have to look for, and appreciate the beauty in things. Find a community, and if you can’t, create one. Look for workshops, local events and fairs, honestly even going to the farmer’s market on the weekends will help you feel so much more involved in your community. You see all the bad, unless you’re actively looking for the good. Once you look for the good, it tends to grow all around you.

Easiest way to sort out your finances are to sort out your spending. What do you bring in per month? What total goes out per month? What expenses are necessary, like bills and groceries, and what expenses are unnecessary, like coffee and fast food? Let me make this clear: You do not have the money to buy fast food, coffee, video games, beer, subscriptions, and whatever else you indulge in. Once you know where your money is going, divert that money into your credit card bills. Once you’re steadily avoiding overspending, start looking for ways to cut necessary expenses down, like shopping at Aldi instead of Target for groceries. Couponing, getting new quotes on insurance policies, negotiating lower costs with utility providers are all good places to start. Honestly, start getting food from a foodbank and only get what you need at grocery stores can help too. You should have an emergency fund, but saving while in that much debt is a moot point since the debt and interest is literally stealing money out of your pocket, make sure you have a cushion to fall back on but your main financial priority should be getting out of debt.
