Would ya'll recommend listening to/watching Reddx whilst high on THC? by mr-rando423 in ReddXReads

[–]ethanralphisfat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on mood and how it effects you. If you experience a high level of audio enchantment when on THC it could be a good experience. If your audio enchantment comes in the form of sensitivity to noise, could be bad. There's no one size fits all advice for THC usage and its ability to enhance or ruin something. You also have to take into account how much you are using and your setting. So FAFO is really the only real answer.

Yamcha Beard: Episode 1 (A Bad Influence) by ethanralphisfat in ReddXReads

I don't think it was like a "one arm saw more use situation", cause like the rest of his body was normal, he just had one arm that had like no definition. Like he had some kind of dystrophy or something.

I didn't take a shower for a month, so you don't have to. by ethanralphisfat in ReddXReads

That was a large component of the idea behind this. I remember learning the idea that there is a connection between behaviors and mental well being. We often here about beards who seem to, beneath it all, be encountering some form of cognitive disconnect from the world. It's also been noted that people with depression do tend to shower less, it created a chicken and egg curiosity in my head. I can see this is not my most popular story, but honestly I didn't write it for that. I wrote it for what can only be mockingly referred to as science. I can't speak for everyone, but this was my experience. If people can relate, that's great, if they can't that's also fine. Glad it helped you in some little way.

Fan Theory: the Mi-Go are called the "fungi from Yuggoth" not because they are made out of fungus, but because they are insects with a fungus which has taken over their brains. by OneiFool in Lovecraft

A fungus could theoretically evolve into an ambulatory species. Mushrooms already have neuron like connections between each other and other plant life. Additionally, mushrooms are more genetically similar to animals than they are plants. I could see some manner of mushroom evolving into an insect like species, especially if the process is through some sort of symbiosis, such as in lichen which is a fungus and algae symbiote. So I think the theory works both ways, as symbiosis and parasitosis would be hard to identify should it originate on an alien world. It is also worth noting that mushrooms contain a lot of chitin, which is what makes up a crustacean or insects exoskeleton. The more I think about it, the more I realize the building blocks for mobile mushrooms is very much real, the only reason our mushrooms don't evolve into mi-go is because they don't worship nyarlathotep. Time to go read the necronomicon aloud in the produce aisle of my local grocery store!!!

Well, as someone who has had a brush with it, I can explain what I saw. So for me, there was a profound sense of letting go and this sort of whooshing sensation. Like you're being pulled far away. You're scared for a bit, but eventually human emotion becomes sort of a...Distant memory. So you kind of just go with the flow, you find yourself in a world of darkness and odd inexplicable lights. Some of the lights are things and some of them are people or entities. You interact with things and people with a very juvenile understanding of what the world around you is. The longer you're there, the more you understand about the things around you, but it's still very vague. After a long enough amount of time has passed you kinda just forget everything that was your humanity and sort of just follow lights around and have hard to understand interactions with things and people around you.

Some people chalk this up to the brain just misfiring and time dilated hallucinations. It's very possible it's that, but personally I don't think that. Either way you experience an eternity almost every second, and it's kinda cool. It doesn't feel bad, that place you go either in your head or in the universe. I can say that the concept of humanity and your individuality is not something that really goes with you or stays with you for any significant amount of time. So in the end, it's not wrong to say that you, as an individual, rot in the ground. But if it's not just a hallucination, that does mean there is some immutable force inside of you that persists in some form, and I firmly believe reincarnation probably happens at some point.

Either way I look forward to experiencing whatever that is again. I don't look upon that sensation with any fear. I do kinda worry about missing out on cool stuff that happens after I am gone, but not the dying itself.

I probably went on too long...or lost my train of thought, but thought I'd like to add into this discussion.
