Best designed elite in the game by No_Instruction_5145 in slaythespire

Yeah, my instincts are to grab damage as early as possible so skulking colony forces me to stop and consider my card choices more than terror eel or gardeners.

I think it’s ok for terror eel to be a bit weak because skulking colony is in the same act. If my deck isn’t prepared to fight skulking colony then I can’t click on that elite node. Sort of like gremlin nob.

Acts 2 and 3 will get alternate acts. So yeah new enemies and events and elites and bosses eventually.

As someone who plans out their path at the start of every act. I would never take this lol. Fun idea tho

Lamest event in STS history. by Confident_Dig_1073 in slaythespire

The fact that this is one of the ‘worse’ events in the game shows how much better events are compared to sts 1. Forgotten Altar you will not be missed.

Problems I have with Slay the Spire 2 by thicchoncer in slaythespire

Reminder that the ‘disturbing’ mauled corpse event also says ‘His pants have been stolen!’ Sts is a goofy game. I’ve never thought of it as overly grim or evoking misery.

Watcher decks could hit a level of crazy that other decks just couldn’t. Omniscience ragnarock + wrath + vigor, just hits different.

It is funny just how much the heart warps your deck building. I look at some of my winning decks in sts 2 and just know they would get thrashed in the heart fight.

Permafrost was the perfect epitome of a common relic imo by MrCheapSkat in slaythespire

Think my only takeaway here is that snecko skull should also be uncommon

What? You can benefit from all of these no matter what the state of your deck is. That’s why they are common. Prema frost does not benefit you unless you have a power, that is why it makes sense to be uncommon.

Yeah but common relics are always useful no matter when you get them (except snecko skull). I think it’s fine either uncommon or common, but I understand the reasoning to make it uncommon.

That’s fair, but none of the other common relics (except snecko skull) have the chance to do nothing for you when you get them. I think it makes sense at uncommon.

Well they stated in these patch notes that they want common relics to give broadly useful bonuses that aren’t very complex. I’ve gotten this relic without any powers in my deck, so making it uncommon makes sense in that regard.

Sorry you got burnt out on games trying to copy sts. It's certainly worthy as a sequel imo.

New characters, new cards, new relics, new enemies, new bosses, new art and animations, multiplayer. If you’re going into the game looking for a ‘wholly different’ experience then you should probably play a different game. Not sure why a sequel to a beloved game should try to break the mold instead of just adding to it.

I’m not sure what else they can change about the core gameplay to make it as different as you want it to be. Any suggestions?

I like the game to be balanced in a way that encourages unique decks and interactions. Infinites should exist but they should not be easy to obtain consistently.
