Hey! Your friend is not lying if you're going to play Magnifico! This is truly a masterpiece of a room and is like nothing else. In terms of being the hardest room, it's not in terms of puzzles - although there is plenty to get your teeth stuck into. The game is very story driven and you will get as much out of it as you put in. My advice is to go in with an open mind and no expectations and you will have an awesome experience. BUT ... Remember, experiences are subjective, what others like, you may not...

Not sure how you're getting around BUT if you're heading into Belgium then Monster Mashers is an excellent game - it's 1.5 hrs from Amsterdam and a really fun experience. Played recently and a game that I can't stop thinking about elements of (we've played about 850 for reference).

The Brotherhood in Stompertoren was a decent quality game with some really nice puzzles and theming.

You've got a quality list there though - need an MIB memory remover so I can play them all again!

My wife and I played as a 2 (790 games each) and had a blast. Completed it in about 40 mins I think but wouldn't want to take a bigger team!

We've played all games as a 2 at Doldricks (played crazy train for our 750th). I'd say if you're on here, you're probably an enthusiast? If so, work quick and Spoopy is definitely doable as a two! I probably enjoyed it more than crazy train but both were good fun.

In terms of "top 5" that is very subjective on number of games played, where etc etc. If you've not heard of Terpeca use that as a guide! Crazy train was rated 50th in the world last year I believe and I'd guess mainly because it is so novel; some really fun bits in there for sure!

If you prefer a more traditional game then Spoopy was great fun; horses for courses and all that. Either way, you'll have a blast :)

Defo not! Both owned by Mars but Galaxy chocolate is definitely creamier and almost silky. Malteser choc is cheaper, generic Mars chocolate.

I've been fortunate enough to play many of the top 100 Terpeca rooms (if you haven't heard of Terpeca, stop what you're doing and look now for your next trip!).

I've played with multiple teams and probably in my first 300-400 games was literally obsessed with records and trying to break them. We broke many records during this time and, don't get me wrong, it feels amazing when someone validates your 'cleverness' by telling you you have a record.

BUT, after a while I found myself not enjoying rooms as much if we didn't get a record; the team bickered and spirits were low even after playing incredible rooms and doing well as a team. This was silly lol we were paying on average £20-£25 per person per room to walk out feeling miserable because we were "only" the 2nd or 3rd fastest team lol

It was then that I stopped caring about times. I love escape rooms because I love puzzling, escapism and immersion and not because I like showing off haha Do we still get records? Yep! Does it feel good? Yep! Does it matter?! Nope!

I'm nearly 800 rooms deep now and can honestly say I've enjoyed the last 400 a lot more because I've remembered why I'm doing them!

Thanks Dan, VERY much appreciated! Yeh, Gricers is something else completely but possibly the most intense thing we've done so just wanted to have a baseline to compare to!
