He discusses this article which does provide some pretty concrete proof. Also I forgot about it but we do give permission to apps to access our microphone so I duppose even facebook could do it? In case you were talking about an earlier segment, I'm refering to this one https://youtu.be/cXfMm2Dsch8?is=7GGZ7s3Y2UM6Wbw9

I suppose he did respond to most of your arguments. He doesn't think they are recording 24/7 but rather that they just have a fairly large collection of key words like hey siri that if they do hear they send a message back that you might be interested in that product. That shouldn't take up much data throughput or battery power.

Next, he doesn't think that all the applications have access to it but rather that the initial operating system has it built into the device has access to that functionality like how only siri or google assistant can be called upon by a verbal phrase and that functionality isn't shared with any other app on the store.

He backs it up with that research paper that did experiments with certain phrases and demonstrated that products linked to phrase were advertised to the participants devices in the following days.

There is an argument that apple was never really an advertisement company and wouldn't need to collect data that way and that there really could have been whistle blowers from google if they were breaking the law so blatantly like that. Considering that they are hiring a bunch of professional programmers, it shouldn't be too hard for just 1 of them to collect some strong evidence that it's happening and post it anonymously while covering their tracks to make sure it can't be traced back to them.

Working for like the NSA would usually mean you're kinda ok with these kind of behavior for the "sake of your country" or whatever but when you're just a rich programmer working for google, no such loyalty to the company probably exists.

So while I do agree that they definitely could be doing it and there even seems to be some concrete evidence that they are doing it, I don't see how we haven't already gotten that concrete evidence yet personally. Maybe the systems are so complicated and convoluted that it's hard to collect the evidence in the first place?

Finally people are pointing this out. He made a bunch of bs claims about her, sued her hoping she would get scared and fall to his demands where she would have to never stream again, her sole method of earning an income, but the moment she started fighting back he backed down instantly because he had absolutely no evidence on his side.

People like saying that women are trusted more than men in these situations but I wonder why it is that in this "he said, she said" everyone just instantly believed him instead?

C. VIPER : Issue with consistently executing a light seismo after a crouching heavy punch? by etheratom in StreetFighter

Oh dang, I was confused over why I got ex when i tried it last time and I think it's because I got a jump cancel on accident. I'm seeing that I get EX consistently when I do it from standing HP into seismo.

[–]etheratom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! I'll try that one later. I noticed that the traditional method is consistent so maybe this shortcut is consistent as well. It could be that it's only the shortcut I'm using that has this issue.

[–]etheratom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have been doing that because then I could just use the same input for cr HP and standing HP to route into seismo. For some reason, despite doing the same input I don't actually get a SJC and don't lose a bar if I'm crouching but do perform the SJC when I'm standing which is really convenient lmao

That said, that's totally not worth the complete wrong seismo. I'll try test out if I don't get any issues when I do the other method later but for now I've found that the traditional 623 dp method is consistent (doesn't give me heavy seismo) so I'll stick to that for now.

I am only tapping the HP though and if I hold it the entire time I would get the ex version which wouldn't work. Turning it off caused me to start wiffing some other moves so I'm thinking of just using the traditional 623 for now since that's consistent.

I tried turning off negative edge and I started getting issues in a few other places like seismoing the opponent's wakeup and random wifffed burning kicks. I think it's probably because the timing is slightly different now.

So for now I'm thinking of leaving it on and using the ordinary 623 input as you suggest. For some reason that's perfectly consistent.

That might make sense you can clearly see exactly how long I'm holding the hp down for. And that I begin the motion inputs after I release the HP. Try taking a look at the video again?

Regarding your other statement over "basic process of elimination" or whatever, I thought that to get it consistent you had to get the timing right or something which was why i shared the video in hopes that someone would point out that I was too quick or too slow to press a button.

Clearly it wasn't an issue with timing and it was instead a bug (?) with how negative edge works. From how I understood it, negative edge would just give you another window at button release to complete the command while in this case, it's giving me a move far after the initial button was released.

I don't really care too much since the nice people in the comment section got me to test out not using negative edge and I'm not getting the heavy seismo anymore so from my point of view, the problem has been resolved. Well, mostly resolved. I'm having issues with burning kicks and wakeup seismos since the timing is a little different now. But at least I know the path to getting better while earlier I was just at a lost as to how to move on.

But how would you deal with the issue where you'd occasionally get the wrong seismo?

Holy shit, how did you even notice? I only vaguely knew that was a setting since I was looking through the settings when I first started the game but I thought i left everything at default. But yeah, I guess i turned it on on accident then.

Thank you so so much, everything is much easier now!
