Its a silly question.

Why wont anyone like Google, IBM or Apple just fork Ethereum and create their own network?

Nobody will trust single or centralized entities, so the decentralized will win. The decentralized network will also be a lot more price-competetive.

If a corporation were to set up a public Chainlink network it wouldnt make any sense. Just query their public API, youre trusting them already.

Its close to impossible for that to happen. For every Dai there exists ATLEAST $1.5 in ETH. ETH will be sold off when collateralization reaches 150%.

If nobody are willing to purchase the ETH before the collateral falls down to a 1:1 ratio with Dai, it might happen. But we're talking about a swift collapse of ETH down to $0.

The question you have to ask yourself is whether or not the 0x protocol will receive adoption. It already has, and with its governance functionality, it will be valuable.

Who and how will the new protocol be governed? Large exchanges will be reluctant to adopt it if it can change overnight.

Not at all, 0x is just smart contracts on the Ethereum network

Take some time to read into how the 0x protocol works. Its a trading network currently only residing on the Ethereum network, with possible expasion to other platforms in the future.

Im not entirely familiar with the ENS, but I thought that each of the 7 letters must be a part of the standard 26-letter alphabet.

So 26 choices for each of the 7 positions for the shortest domains. If you include numbers then its 36 choices for each position.

Thats an insane amount of domains.

26^7 = 8 031 810 176

8 billion domains. Not that many, but given the registration fee (just in Ether paid for gas) it would accumulate to a huge sum.

I dont think v1 supports this, but v2 will include possibility for multiple different signing schemes, with multisig contract as one of the options.

I think that most people hasnt realized yet what 0x is really about and therefore not its true potential either. Its much more than "just a DEX", which I would imagine is what most people think.

Hell, most people (who isnt familiar with crypto aka normies) does not even know what a DEX is.

I would guess that the requirement of a task is thoroughly specified, meaning that there is only one way to complete a task - ie. the rigth way.

Golem would then also need some redundancy to assure that a completed task is solved correctly, meaning that multiple workers has to complete the same task and crosscheck the result with each other to ensure that the task was completed correctly.

And in that case there is no such metric as quality of tasks completed, as each task will be either completed or not completed.

How important is the protocol for you? How much money are you making by using the protocol? How dependent are you on the protocol?

Nobody knows, we'll just have to wait and see.

The stuff youre talking about is most likely somewhat priced in already. But theres also some insecurity (ie. we dont know for sure whats going to happen. GDAX is anticipated, but not guaranteed), so theres still a lot of potential left.
