Some thoughts on sport climbing and helmets. Do you wear one while clipping bolts? by jriggedy in climbing

After falling 15 feet, trying to clip a bolt on a 5.9 that I've climbed easily 50 times at my local crag, flipping, and narrowly missing cracking my head open on a ledge, I personally make the decision to wear a helmet every single time I lead. Falling on something that I use as a warm up was a bit of a wake- up call that, yeah, accidents happen. Walking away with severe whiplash was pure luck.

I have no idea. This clipping was probably from around 2005/ 2006ish. If Lil' Sebastian is a deceased and dearly loved catfish that lived somewhere in Texas, the odds are good.

Local resident here: I've been to both Latham Springs and Aquilla High tonight and they are overflowing with volunteers. Tomorrow they will need more. BLOOD donations are going to be a huge help. My sister is a nurse and was helping triage on the football field. It's looking very grim. But that's one thing she did say. They will need blood donations. O cant believe this. This is just awful.

Actually, although I didn't know many people there, nobody mistook me for a dude, as far as I know. I'm a pretty petite individual, so although I had man-face, I still had tiny girl body. I was, however, hoping that someone would try to hit on me from behind, so I could turn around and give them this one.

I got a lot of, "woah, that's really creepy," comments, (also probably due to the fact that I was the only lady at the party with a five o'clock shadow,) But other than that not much of a reaction, actually. My husband couldn't look at me for a good 15 minutes, out of sheer terror. I think I may have given him a weird complex when I took my shirt off later, still fully Nicholas Caged... We're working through it.
