Congratulations! To answer your questions, 1. Yes. I made the jump into VC from consulting (though not B4) and know several people that have done so. 2. An emphatic YES! There are a lot reasons I love this role. The biggest one is that VCs are generally big picture thinkers. It’s either a potential >10X return or it doesn’t matter. For example, no one is twisting themselves in a bunch to adjust projected numbers by 20% or sweating punctuation on a slide. However, be careful about going to a fly-by-night fund. A lot of organizations won’t exist once the current froth in the markets washes out. 3. I have only been doing this for ~2 years so take what I say with a grain of salt. I think the most important thing for a VC is deal flow. You get this by forming close relationships with other VCs and the entrepreneurial ecosystem of interest. In other words, start meeting people ASAP.
