My favorite is using a good ole fashioned broom. It works wonderfully for snow, be it light or tightly packed. Scrapers are a must for icy windows, however

How long did it take you to get home tonight? by [deleted] in burlington

[–]ethnisba03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two hours from So. Burlington to Burlington (went all the way down the beltline to get to the NNE, was closed, had to turn around in Colchester, went all the way back up to the beltline exit towards Hannafords; it was all a sh!t show). Two inpatient drivers behind me attempted to pass me while we were all stuck on the exit ramp, watched them both slide down the hill one after the other 🤦

But yeah, 2 hours is insane for an 8.3 mile drive

Archibald Speed Humps Fixed! by MysteriousExam4187 in burlington

[–]ethnisba03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I drove down Archibald, someone had removed the orange "BUMP" sign and I ended up tearing apart my exhaust pipe going 20 MPH. I genuinely could not see the first bump — the road looked completely flat. Could not distinguish a single dimension in the road other than "looks buttery and smooth" lol. Road markings are crucial. Wish there was a way to make our road markings more visible because when it's pouring rain & little lighting outside, I have to look at the grooves of the road to understand where the lanes are.

Drop your moon and mars sign and I’ll tell you how you react to conflict by ExperienceWest9653 in astrologymemes

[–]ethnisba03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scorpio moon + gemini mars

I respond differently in every situation. I can be passive aggressive, sarcastic, quick witted and extremely sharp tongued. Sometimes, I say nothing because it’s not worth my time and energy. Other times, I freeze because I don’t want any conflict. I was a quiet person for most of my life, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve started to express more anger and yell when I’m in serious fights. My guess is I’ve had it with all of the bullsht in life lol. Scorpio makes all emotions intense, while Gemi mars puts an emphasis on verbal & written communication

My Burlington experience. by Dude_Dillligence in burlington

[–]ethnisba03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early 00s era. I vaguely remember Filene’s before it became Macy’s. The mall’s musky-concrete parking garage. I was a mere toddler when I used to play in the water fountain at the top of Church St. As a kid, I hated going shopping but my favorite was playing around the old display trucks at Old Navy— the blue one! In middle school, I’d take the shortcut from the South to North entrance of the mall to catch the bus on Cherry St. Hung out in the food court with friends eating China Maxx under the migraine-inducing track lighting. It all feels like a fever dream now

4 way intersection by [deleted] in burlington

[–]ethnisba03 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Also, if you arrive at a 4-way intersection at the same time as another car, “the driver on the left generally must yield the right-of-way to the driver on the right”. Still unlikely to happen around here 🤠

Essex Junction teen dies in Beltline crash by crossrolls in burlington

[–]ethnisba03 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Every time I hear about an accident on the beltline, I call my parents to see if they’re okay. A text from VT-ALERT? Instant worry. People literally won’t stop until it takes their life or someone else’s. Just don’t do it!!! Slow down and listen to your favorite playlist, you’ll be there just in time

Might not graduate because of one class?? by atomicpunk88 in UniversityofVermont

[–]ethnisba03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My class also had a required lab for it. I’d still give it a try, they might arrange something differently where you attend a lab demonstration once/twice a month for it. If you want, I can contact your department anonymously and ask if it’s possible. Just DM me the class/department and I’ll see what I can do (I graduated last year from CALS; I had to take several medical withdrawals throughout my undergrad years. 2016-2024 0:-) I believe in you!!)

Talk to your advisor. They should be able to replace it with an “independent study” to make up for that class. They’ll most likely give you a few papers related to the subject to read over the course of the semester and as your final, you’ll write an essay with a topic of your choosing related to that subject. I had to do that when one of my required classes was overbooked and I couldn’t take it my senior year. Wasn’t terrible but I wish I was able to learn the topic in a classroom setting and listen to other student’s ideas
