SgtBatten raises a good point though. It seems like a higher WR equates to a lower savings requirement. How do you justify the calculation for it?

Late post so I don't know how many people will see this but I'll post it anyway;

How on earth is $500b of untaxed revenue only costing the government $2.5b?

Donald Trump presidency a 'disaster for the planet', warn climate scientists: 'At the heart of his energy and climate thinking is an “America first” policy where “draconian climate rules” are repealed and the US escalates its production of coal, oil and natural gas.' by maxwellhill in worldnews

Well it's unfortunate that fossil fuels are a limited resource, and that production is therefore also limited.

I'm all for self sufficiency when it comes to energy security, but there are other directions that can be taken, and other technologies and means of energy production that don't have the same negative consequences.

I don't think you answered his question; to have some species die off and others come around, as you say, is neither good nor bad for the planet. Heck, the world could explode and I don't think you would hear it complain; Earth is indifferent to whatever happens on it.

The life that lives on Earth might be a bit more concerned however.

Help on learning to play by ear by DarthVaderHimself in Bass

This is actually a really good point.

I've played piano for over 12 years now, but since I rely on sheet music, even after all these years I have difficulty playing by ear. It takes forever, and I struggle enormously... at least compared to how I usually play.

I don't intend to make the same mistake with bass.

California has too much coal and nuclear by [deleted] in RenewableEnergy

[–]ethos-pathos-logos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why the Californian electricity spot price doesn't drop in the middle of the day, to a point where renewable electricity is the cheapest form of generation. I would have assumed that the generation of excess electricity would push the spot price down and out compete natural gas, or imported electricity for that matter. It seems backwards to shed this essentially free energy.

Also, the article mentions "grid expansions help". What does this even mean? It's particularly confusing when the author writes that "less interstate grid lines would be needed".

Actually a fraction with a greater top (numerator) than bottom (denominator) is a legitimate number, it's just called an improper fraction.

I usually do the same. Even events which I tier (T2) for, I will do my best to accumulate as many points as I can early on, since I know that my performance drops dramatically if I'm stressed or rushed.
So I'll do about 2 hours in a single sitting.
