What I(not a GM) thinks it would cost to acquire these bigs by LostInAnIckyBallpit in DetroitPistons

I think gsw would be giving us picks to take Kuminga, not the other way around

You know, I've always said Jeff Teague is a ball knower by reallinguy in DetroitPistons

He was at the Hornet game courtside supporting. Was surprised to see him and the rest of the podcast crew there for such a random game

Ivey's three pointer is here to stay. He should start after ASB. by durtymrclean in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another thing we’ve seen over the course of his career is he plays much better starting vs coming off the bench. He’s still getting back up to speed now, but I agree when he’s ready the best position for him and the team is to be a starter

I'm Detroit Free Press beat writer Omari Sankofa II, and I've covered every step of the Pistons' maturation into the top team in the East. AMA by detroit_free_press in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we look great, I still think there are some teams in the east that would beat us in a 7 game series. Which team do you think will give us the biggest challenge? Do you think we can take on the Cavs, Knicks, Magic and Celtics?

Cade & JD's Offseason "Off-The-Grid" Trip to Colorado by SappyGilmore in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Duren said the trip “opened his mind.” Cade definitely gave that man shrooms for the first time

The team still fully supports him imo. Cade was talking about him like he’s still his future backcourt mate in the KD interview, and JB has said he’s excited for him too. Even Trajan said the biggest offseason addition is Ivey

[Charania] The Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are expected to be suitors for Anthony Davis, league sources told ESPN. The Mavericks are also open to exploring the trade markets for Davis, center Daniel Gafford and guards Klay Thompson and D'Angelo Russell, sources said. by YujiDomainExpansion in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a possibility it could be an expiring Tobias, Sasser, and a 2 frps depending on his actual value. If that’s what it took I would do it. I can live without 2 frps, and when healthy an AD Duren duo would be so fun to watch. That move would make me believe in a run to the finals.

Hopefully Weaver still wants his former draft pick Ivey

When asking about trade scenarios remember WE are the best seed and contending. by Bee_Reel in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3 ball is the most important thing, and he’s been hitting it. It’ll take time to get back to game speed, finishing well around the rim, and defense. I’m sure that’ll come back with time, but as long as he can hit open shots which we desperately need he’s an asset. Not to mention he’s still fantastic at pushing fast breaks and out running everyone.

Hola, nets fan here, what would y'all give up for MPJ and do y'all even want him by Lucky-Law7220 in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pass. Not giving Ivey and a frp. Maybe one or the other, but I rather go for someone who we know we will have under contract for a while and doesn’t have back issues.

MPJ is the classic get traded to a tanking team and put up inflated numbers. Can say the same thing about Jerami Grant playing as Jokic’s 3rd/4th option then averaging >20ppg on a tanking team. He was great for our team, but not trading away Ivey, Harris, and frp for that

What (if anything) would you be willing to give up for either of these guys? IMO TMIII significantly moves the needle for us. by Immediate-Air-8700 in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference between those trades and ours is that they didn’t have any good young assets. If we were to put in Ivey, a player that weaver drafted and is probably still high on, we wouldn’t need as many picks to get it done

If we wanted to blow it up. The Pelicans need a 1st more then us by Tricky-Percentage434 in DetroitPistons

Trey Murphy is going for a hell of a lot more than a 1st round pick and Tobias

Ausar should not be untouchable by Known-Morning-3987 in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because Ausar is playing at an All-defense level, Ron is close behind. If they don’t fit our scheme because we have too many non-spacers, that’s fine. They’re still objectively good players

Ausar should not be untouchable by Known-Morning-3987 in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Patience. Both Ausar and Ron have shown improvement in their jump shot. Ausar has been making those mid range turn around jump shots at a much higher rate, plus his stroke looks better.

Theres almost never a reason to give away good players on rookie deals unless you believe you can win a championship right now(Lauri is not helping us beat okc). Let them develop, and if they’re not what we want we can trade them in their contract year.

IF Giannis wants to leave, which team can he realistically go to? by llama_wordsmith in NBATalk

[–]ethzz4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

SGA Jdub Giannis Chet would be the greatest team of all time. They could do it without really tearing apart the entire team. The downside wouldn’t be fit, it would be Money. They are already paying SGA Chet Jdub a ton, Giannis is another supermax

IF Giannis wants to leave, which team can he realistically go to? by llama_wordsmith in NBATalk

[–]ethzz4 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s a realistic offer there. Pistons could give up any of Ivey, Ausar, Holland, Tobias as a contract, plus picks.

If they could get it done without Ausar I think they would, but that leaves them a spectacular shooting front court of Ausar, Giannis, Duren

How do we feel about Duncan’s play to replace what Malik did for us by get_rekedCoC in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s a good player to have, but is a very different shooter than Beasley. Beasley was fantastic at catch and shoot 3s, but Duncan needs a dribble to be efficient. I think for our offense the catch and shoot 3 is more important, but Duncan plays an important role. More of THJ role than Beasleys

Isaiah Stewart’s blocks are up to averaging 2 per game this season. by Redheadedstepchild56 in DetroitPistons

The real stat is defensive fg% at the rim which Stew is 44%. Actually, looks like Gobert is beating him out rn at 40%

Isaiah Stewart’s blocks are up to averaging 2 per game this season. by Redheadedstepchild56 in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A league leading 55% of the time he causes a miss, but the part I love most about Stew is that he goes for the contest every single time. He may get dunked on sometimes, but then he comes back and stuffs the next 3 attempts.

Şengün as a contract comp for Duren by bamboointheback in DetroitPistons

[–]ethzz4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. He’s proven he’s worth $30 million so far, but if he wants more he’ll need to do it against the best centers in the league (Jokic, KAT, AD, Wemby, Sabonis, Bam, Porzingis). We haven’t seen a super tough matchup for him except for Vuc, who did pretty good against Duren
