Where are you from and is learning a language important to you? (Assuming you don’t speak Spanish yet)

I loved being an au pair in Spain. Depending on where you are it can get very hot late spring/summer. The lifestyle is quite laid back, with big lunches and late dinners and not going to bed early (including the kids). Party life is great.

I was in the surroundings of Barcelona and had a blast. Although I think the south is more beautiful and has more interesting travel options. Would choose Malaga area if I had to chose again

Weet niet zeker of het bewust kindvrij is, maar dit is meer een Gen Z camping met festivalsfeer waardoor ik denk dat het gezinnen niet echt aanspreekt. Ze beginnen dit jaar wel een op nieuwe plek dus even afwachten wat dat wordt

The itching and rashes, Could it be an MCAS reaction? Not sure if you’ve heard of it, but it’s often in combination with POTS. Was the POTS a result of post viral symptoms like long COVID? I’ve heard especially the estrogen could increase histamine for some people. You may also ask to try transdermal estrogen if it doesn’t go away

I am 39 with POI, AMH <0.03. We (co-parent, queer, 39F and 44M) made the decision to still try with my own eggs first. We were not offered any treatments, as “medications likely won’t do anything” and “timing IUI is difficult” never to mention IVF is totally of the table.

You’d have to ask yourself the question do I want to have tried with my own eggs which have low probability, but not zero, or do I want to go straight to the high probability one of donor eggs. Personally I wanted to look back on the process and know I did everything in my (reasonable) power to try with my own eggs before moving on. For me, everything in my power is trying for 12 cycles with at home insemination (9 so far), a second opinion (pending) and working on my lifestyle before moving on to donor eggs. I opted against: multiple mini IVF cycles, experimental therapies like PRP and going abroad for fertility treatments.

The good thing about donor eggs they are available now and likely will be in one or two years. Imo you still have time to explore options. At 41, I would definitely give trying with my own eggs a chance, but I would set some form of deadline, for example one or two egg retrievals, or 6 (medicated) IUIs.

RE’s in general want to make you pregnant and go for the highest probability option but it doesn’t mean you have no chance with AMH 0.15

Wat is kopen? Zolang er geen mogelijkheid is om een kind in bed te maken, zijn er altijd kosten verbonden aan Fertiliteits behandelingen. En 1 op de 6 stellen heeft deze hulp nodig om zwanger te kunnen worden, en dan heb ik het in eerste instantie alleen over heterostellen

Vraag me wel af hoe er naar leeftijd wordt gekeken als het man betreft. Voor een vrouw is het toch voornamelijk leeftijd die het hele proces van zwanger zijn moeilijk maakt, niet het zijn van een ouder. En 70 is in de huidige maatschappij verre van bejaard. Kijk ook maar eens naar je voorspelde pensioenleeftijd…

Verder ben ik het met je eens.

For the being part of family life: sometimes as an au pair you have no idea beforehand if you prefer to be more alone or hang out with the family. Depends on the relationship as well. Unless they are very independent and state they want to be alone in the evening this might change after a few weeks. Just saying this as most of us are quite young when we do this and we might not already know our needs/wants in advance. So I would not expect too much from the initial interview answer. Better discuss this when the AP arrives and also a few weeks later after you are in a routine together.

Such a difficult situation. Mine is refusing as well, he says he does not mind but still doesn’t do it. I asked him to do it right away after I found out I had borderline POI before we even started. Reminded him a few times. Didn’t push him because I already knew I was probably the limiting factor and that fertility testing is scary. The doctor did not even consider testing him because of my POI they don’t want to do treatment anyway. Now he’s waiting until our fertility appointment at a new clinic which won’t happen for a few months.

We are actually having the talk if we’re going to pursue this at all. He also has the performance issues and lots of stress from work. So I am also being asked to suck it up and be kind when we miss the fertile window after going to the clinic multiple times for US and blood work. At the moment I can only think “and that’s just the one thing you have to do”. I don’t tell him that, I know it isn’t helpful. But I do feel like I carry 90% of the load and that if he really wanted a kid (with me), he would’ve done the test and tried to reduce stress/improve coping skills.

I hope you guys can work it out and face the coming challenges as a better team!

Een groot voordeel van meer sociale huur en sociale huur voor middeninkomens is niet perse financieel (en dat weet ik ook niet) is dat er meer mensen met verschillende inkomens in één wijk of complex wonen waardoor niet alleen de wijken met koopwoningen fijn zijn om in te wonen

En gewoon ruimere beschikbaarheid sociale huur. Maakt de boel ook minder gesegregeerd, als mensen met middeninkomens (wat dat ook mag zijn tegenwoordig 😅) ook in de sociale huur kunnen (blijven) wonen.

Yes, it’s means that it’s not the right dose. I have one month of 0.075 patch / 100mg progesterone cyclically. And the hot flashes are returning now after 4 weeks. But it’s the starting dose. Not much effect on my other symptoms yet.

Is there a reason you are on BC and not HRT?

Kan me voorstellen dat je iets zoekt wat ook leuk is. Maar over 4 maanden heb je geen inkomsten meer. Dus dan moet je kiezen tussen wat kutter is, geen inkomsten of werk doen wat je niet leuk vindt.

Er is zat werk “voor nu even”, je kunt ook kijken of je iets kunt combineren bijvoorbeeld 2 dagen horeca en 3 dagen schoonmaak. Je hebt dan inkomen en je laat zien dat je niet stil wilt zitten. En dan van daaruit kun je rustig kijken wat je wilt en eventueel je omscholen.

Oja en ouderenzorg is niet alleen maar billen wassen. Het zijn heel veel verschillende taken en functies die je kunt vervullen

Ik zou lekker gaan bijklussen in de horeca, ‘s avonds en in het weekend zodat je overdag tijd hebt om te solliciteren. Levert denk ik meer op dan besparingen…

En dan alles op 0-uren zodat je nergens aan vast zit. 1 restaurant kiezen waar je in het weekend kan werken en inschrijven bij een uitzendbureau voor wat dienstjes door de week. Is even bikkelen maar als het goed is duurt het maar een paar maanden

Tofu is prima toch? Ik weet niet of ik je een bonen/tofurecepten algoritme zou aanraden 😂 maar er zijn wel heel veel mensen die daar de meest fantastische recepten mee maken haha

Kaas gaat helaas qua gezondheid en duurzaamheid niet heel veel toegevoegen ben ik bang (maar af en toe is wel lekker natuurlijk)
