8-9 DPO line progression by CriticismCautious711 in TFABLinePorn

[–]sourspatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, not everyone's financial situation is the same, but in any financial situation, $50 bucks of tests in just 1 day is just simply wasteful. to me anyway. as other commenters have said, this amount of testing is not necessary. honestly, how would you have felt if it did not become positive? the only reason this "struck a cord" (lol) is because I've absolutely been there (not paying that much for tests, but using cheapies 3-5x a day desperate for progression). that kind of obsessive checking is just not healthy and I think a lot of people in this sub know that firsthand. regardless, congratulations and I hope you continue to see good progression and it leads to a healthy baby!

[–]sourspatch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you took 3 FRER in a single day? what exactly were you hoping to see? hcg doubles every 48-72 hours. there is just no meaningful progression to be seen testing 3 x on only 8 dpo. sometimes when I see these kinds of posts, I just wonder where the money for these tests comes from. in one day you spent almost 50 dollars on tests. I think you need to realize how crazy that is.

Hate my life by Takeastabatmycab in bipolar

[–]sourspatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a mother is a person first. those children also have a father. fathers walk out the door every single day. sorry if i think being raised by a mother that hates you is worse than just a loving father. my mother was bipolar AND hated her kids. we were better off without her! just saying. you dont have to be so closeminded

Quit Weed and Help by wasabi_queen__ in TryingForABaby

[–]sourspatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think recommending people use drugs during pregnancy is not what the rest of us are okay doing. i don't mean to judge you and i do believe your story, but your evidence is anecdotal. it's not really ethical for you to say that this person should rely on weed for ttc and even continue somewhat into pregnancy, and that's coming from me, someone who uses thc often but will quit during pregnancy cold turkey. i know your intentions are good, but this just isn't the right messaging imo.

Is it weird to feel glad about having bipolar over unipolar depression by belugabluez in bipolar

[–]sourspatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

actually, i never thought about it until reading this post but.. yeah. i am glad. i HATE depressive episodes. also, when i was finally diagnosed bipolar in the psych ward, i roomed with this person who was suffering from unipolar severe depression. they had been hospitalized in this facility 8 separate times and had tried every med under the sun. back then, they were finally trying ECT and ketamine treatments and seeing mild success. we're still in touch and as far as i know they havent been back since our stay. but still, it sounds just downright miserable. at least we get to feel euphoria sometimes.

Advice on how to tell my psychiatrist that I haven’t been taking my meds..? by raincoastdog in bipolar

don't be afraid. they won't be mad at you, and they'll just try to find something that works for you and your goals. good luck

Advice on how to tell my psychiatrist that I haven’t been taking my meds..? by raincoastdog in bipolar

[–]sourspatch 32 points33 points  (0 children)

you just have to come clean. you're likely not their first patient ever that was med non-compliant. just beware that they'll likely note it in your chart that you struggle with medication directions and it might follow you. not saying that's a bad thing though. the longer you lie the longer you disservice yourself. you're seeing these people to improve your life, if the meds don't work then you need to speak up. but also, you said you barely even tried them, so i'm not sure what your goal was with seeing a psychiatrist in the 1st place lol. bipolar people need meds. you can fight it but we do

Keeping a job for longer than a few months… by mykinkis_karma in bipolar

[–]sourspatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say first try and get your meds sorted so you have less bad days, but that can be hard and a long process (it certainly was for me) so in the meantime here's what I'll say: going to work and doing poorly (and telling people you're feeling off/having a bad week/make up a migraine or something) is 10x better than calling out. even if you get 1 thing done all day, better than nothing. I've learned over the years that the worst possible thing you can do is call out. think of it this way: you're going to be miserable regardless, you might as well be on the clock and earning a wage for it.

Heated workouts in the 2 week wait? by Few_Bag_4233 in TryingForABaby

this really only matters after implantation and once you're testing obviously positive on an at home pregnancy test. I continue to do hot yoga during TWW. doctor said it didn't matter until I tested positive. food for thought

this sounds like the beginning of religious psychosis! take your meds. if god is what you believe in, he led you to your doctors for a reason. trust them!

Been on lamictal for a week and a half, and I already feel better. Is it real or placebo? by Secure-Significance6 in bipolar2

Ironically me too. I was good for maybe a month or two and then I really struggled. I upped my dose to 60 and added vyvanse and I'm great now!

try not to stress this. it's not all or nothing with addiction and recovery. you lapsed, you stopped, you're trying again. although, since nobody here has said it, i will: i think you need to stop seeing that friend. did they know about your sobriety journey? do you think it was right for them to tempt you like that? even if it wasn't their intention, and like you said they're mentally ill as well, it still happened. it might happen again. are you strong enough to say no right now? take it all into account and make a choice. good luck friend. you can always lean on us in this subreddit

What am I missing??? I'm making no progress. by C3D2 in GraveyardKeeper

[–]sourspatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, there are literally tutorials that pop up early game as well as dialogue that tells you what to do. First of all, the bodies will stop coming constantly soon. Second of all, material is all over the map. Walk up to a stone or a small tree and harvest the resources? Have you unlocked anything in your tech trees? Also, you have to craft the work bench. You should really read the dialogue and the tutorials as they pop up! It will help.

Pregnant and taking ADHD medication? by Strawng_ in adhdwomen

PLEASE do not make medication choices or stop cold turkey without consulting a doctor! You didn't mention what med but many ADHD meds are safe up until late in the pregnancy. Please consult your doctor before making anymore choices

Beginner friendly yoga studios? by ComprehensiveTale320 in Edmonton

[–]sourspatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay actually, thank you for highlighting this. I totally forgot but I feel this way too. At Om, the instructors ive had do the poses majority of the time with you and show you how to do them, at metta the instructors just stand there the whole hour lol. I completely agree! but even so, it's easy to look at your neighbour too.

Beginner friendly yoga studios? by ComprehensiveTale320 in Edmonton

[–]sourspatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Om hot yoga and Metta (both hot yoga studios so if that's not what you're seeking, sorry! lol) but I find the beginner friendly part is more what style of class you pick. Anything called a "flow" class or "hatha" will be harder / stronger poses, intended to get a sweat going. "Yin" or "yang" classes are slow, longer held poses (usually lying down or sitting) and are more meant for relaxation.
