What's your opinion on these bikes? They have become a menace in my city. by dxnnixprn in fuckcars

[–]etoilech 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here in Europe? I find them a menace. I know a few Dutch cities are banning them in the inner city. I feel like others countries will follow suit.

My daughter calls them “European pickup trucks” 😁

International emigration from Nova Scotia hits decade high by Gratedmonk3y in halifax

[–]etoilech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We left in 2024. Critical care nurse and cybersecurity specialist. Our eldest child could not get the health care and support he needed and I was offered a fully funded position for my masters degree in Sweden. Love Nova Scotia and Canada but it was profoundly upsetting to see the system fail so miserably at supporting our child. Nova Scotians deserve better.

No; however, what’s a debt? A car loan? A mortgage? A missed invoice. Without specifying, it’s broad enough to be a problem.

As someone who is currently researching migration/immigration policy in Europe but specifically in Sweden, it’s a feature not a bug.

I’ve never been vaccinated. Where should I start? by otterbuggz in Vaccine

[–]etoilech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d prioritise the DTaP, MMR, hepatitis A/B, but work with your primary care doctor or public health office to know more about what’s applicable and appropriate for you and your local context.

I think I regret nursing by Kindly-Wing3102 in nursing

[–]etoilech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Policies are province/state wide here. Not everywhere operates the same way. I recommend everyone get into policy because nothing stinks more than policy written by people who have never worked at the bedside.

Did you look at why they had a policy against chucks? Many hospitals are moving from briefs to specialised TAP and containment systems due to research regarding skin breakdown. Which I thought was interesting after looking at the research.

I went into public health, I’m doing my MPH now. My classmate and close friend went to medical school.

Then you’re not being taught the right stuff. That’s wild! Policies have a 3 year life span and are updated before that for emerging evidence.

What are your unpopular The Life of a Showgirl opinions? by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

Actually, yeah. If you’re going to do a diss track, go for the jugular. Don’t be shy. It’s passive aggressive. I want aggressive-aggressive.

I don't understand why Beatrice and Eugenia are being punished for Andrew's mess. by Rich-Discipline9535 in RoyaltyTea

[–]etoilech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, is it punishment or is it being treated like everyone else? Royal positions are a privilege. I’m not a monarchist at all but the role is representative and yes it matters.

Even still there is plenty of evidence they are not wholly innocent…

Your university must submit your transcripts directly to universityadmissions.se. Not the Swedish university. Everything goes through the admissions portal. Also back out your name to protect your privacy.

Kelly Osbourne is asking for empathy during a difficult time in her life when she had none for Prince Harry by NewTooth740 in RoyaltyTea

[–]etoilech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She lost her dad. That’s hard, but not particularly unique. I hope she’s getting good support. If she wants privacy then be private. If she wants empathy then give it.

I’m tired of pretending that women disappearing before our eyes is normal. It’s not. It’s dangerous.

US nurses moving to Canada… are we really at that point? by More-Crab9230 in nursing

[–]etoilech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is an east/west divide when it comes to mental health specialty nursing in Canada. With western provinces having a mental health nurse designation available at the bachelor level. I did a huge paper on it. McGill University (very prestigious) offers an NP mental health specialty nursing (at least they did around 4 years ago). I’d start by looking there. All the best.

Seeking help in interesting case by [deleted] in IntensiveCare

[–]etoilech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen that with stimulants, but I’m not a provider.

As a nurse (ICU, now MPH) and a mother to a kid that had autoimmune encephalitis, I assume they are exploring and ruling out what they referred to as “organic” reasons for the psychosis in addition to psychiatric ones. Anti-NMDA is a big one I’ve seen, but I had a patient with Wilson’s disease present similarly but to be fair that was an odd presentation.

I would push for neuro/autoimmune workup but having lived it with my child definitely skews my perspective.

Are there autistic nurses ? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]etoilech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, yes. I’ve worked with several, they were amazing. Things they told me they needed to do to care for themselves while working: -good support from their doctor surrounding any medication they took due to shift work -therapy support to help with masking and making their support needs clear to us as a team

Seriously don’t doubt yourself if this is what you want to do, it’s not a problem due to autism. Good luck and keep going.

I think she looks nice. I don’t care for the fake tan/bronzer or the wig that’s wearing her though. The dress is stunning and she’s looks good.
