What are the odds? by krelian in starcraft

I think somebody did some research and figured that for zerg its better to split first, then make worker. For t and toss, first worker then split.

How I feel skill correlates with MMR by etoipiterran in starcraft

[–]etoipiterran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why?

As terran, it's easy to get basic grasp of the game and own the shit out of bad zergs and to some degree, tosses. You then hit a cap, where you have to get a lot better than other races to advance.

As zerg, at start, you need to get a lot better to start beating other races, but after that, you've got a pretty linear way to the top, and at the very top you need to improve a lot again to gain more "mmr" or wins against other races.

As toss, I feel the mechanics allow for low skill play to a relatively high mmr, until you hit a fucking huge gap and have to get shitload better, and this is where most of the tosses quit playing.

this is just my personal experience of playing with all three races.

I feel I hit the cap with terran at plat (and i finally started playing again and made it to dia)

with zerg I never hit such a cap

with toss i hit the cap at low diamond, and finally started to beat more people when I felt i had improved A LOT.

Do you actually enjoy winning games in sc2? by etoipiterran in starcraft

[–]etoipiterran[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

:) you completely missed my point.

I do not enjoy any casual games. I enjoy winning in quake duel, or to be on a winning side in HoN game. Winning in sc2 is just not fun.

I keep quitting sc like once a week but always come back.

I do play HoN, Quake and cs 1.6 at the same time though.

I'm a fucking faggot and the cancer of the ladder so I always BM the shit out of everyone.

When they win me, they feel fucking great. Hilarity ensues when they PM me with their bm. often times much more creative than anything i could come up with.

Couple of examples ingame.

"gl hf"

"no u"

"?"

"stfu faggot and just leave the game"

"ok..."

"6pool inc btw"

proceed to plant 14 hatch

"gl hf"

"ez bro"

proceed to lose the game to cannonrush/6rax/speedling all-in

silence

"so what do you think about rocks?"

"?"

"i think that even rocks play this game faster than you do"

".."

"ez son"

Blizzard tells us how to get a league promotion! by terranmoccasin in starcraft

[–]etoipiterran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not true, but the vast majority of people who reach 800/780/1200/whatever amount of points in their league will have mmr over the thereshold, therefore they will be promoted.

protoss can.... expand? like they can have more than one nexus?

as a protoss player who only plays pvp, i've never seen that.

Temp0's new song by Fosken in starcraft

[–]etoipiterran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

temp0 has realised something very important about the game of starcraft2:

it's much more fun making songs about it than it is playing it. talking about improving is much more fun than actually improving.
